Legendary Liverpudlian group The Scaffold have reworked their Top Five hit ‘Thank U Very Much’ while in isolation in aid of frontline healthcare workers.
Collaborating from their homes, Mike McGear, Roger McGough and John Gorman have adapted the song to pay tribute to NHS staff who are working tirelessly for the country. The lyric video was created by Mike’s son.
Mike McGear McCartney says: “I’ve had personal ties with the NHS all my life as my Mum Mary was a nurse & midwife in Liverpool (she brought Carrie Mulligan’s father into this world!) & my daughter Theran is a Front Line nurse in Sheffield. Therefore I’m doing everything I can to support them. ALL money raised from the sale of this single goes to our amazing NHS workers via NHS Charities Together. Please STAY HOME.”
Money raised from the sales of this single will go to our amazing NHS workers via NHS Charities Together. NHS Charities Together – is the national umbrella organisation for hundreds of NHS charities across the country. Its Urgent Appeal acknowledges and supports NHS staff and volunteers caring for COVID-19 patients. It has been put together in liaison with NHS England and national bodies, our member NHS charities and national giving platforms.
