This Friday (23rd March) sees the release of the third and fourth volumes of The Residents’ pREServed reissues series – this time around it’s ‘Fingerprince’ and ‘Duck Stab/Buster & Glen’
Both classics are presented as 2CD sets packed full of unreleased material, rarities, live recordings and all kinds of other goodies related to the parent album. You may have missed it, but The Residents’ Mysterious Archivist was recently interviewed exclusively for the cult Finnish blog One Quart Magazine – you can find out all about the glamorous lifestyle of an archivist to the really not that rich and only modestly famous right here.
Oh, and the cat is out of the bag concerning The Residents’ Record Store Day release – yes, it’s ‘The W***** B*** Album’, yes it’s great, yes there aren’t that many off them and yes – it really is great. Complete with a full-colour inner sleeve and A4 insert packed full of all you need to know about this seminal recording, all in a Resident’s own hand. Even the BBC have succumbed to the Residential charms, and recently declared The WB Album to be one of this year’s ten ‘must have’ RSD releases. It’ll be Knighthoods next.
