Prior to this,

An invitation
from the label lead to the band being included on the now revered compilation
album, "Rock From Hell” which was released in ’83. This was quickly followed by
inclusion on the ‘Death Metal’ comp. in ’84 where Running Wild had two tracks
to their name. Gaining favourable interest the band were offered to record
their first full-length album for Noise Records and "Gates To Purgatory” was
released at the end of that same year.

photographed surrounded by skulls and the satanic track titles, Running Wild
began to draw comparisons to Venom and their ilk, when in reality they were
more influenced by the aforementioned Priest along with Kiss and AC/DC.
