• Greg Phillinganes was one of LA’s most prolific session musicians. Stevie Wonder recruited him into his Wonderlove band in 1976 which led to a five year stint with this group. He also featured on all of Michael Jacksons Epic Records recordings. As well as his work with the future King Of Pop he’s also been invited to work with the likes of Aretha Franklin, Paul McCartney, Gil Scott Heron, Diana Ross, Quincy Jones and the Pointer Sisters to name a few as well as being a full time member of Earth Wind & Fire.
• PULSE was Greg’s second solo album, released in 1984 on Planet Records. This Richard Perry produced album is a great blend of R&B, Funk and soulful ballads.
• BEHIND THE MASK is the opening track and first single from PULSE. Penned by Michael Jackson and later a hit when covered by Eric Clapton. Goldie Looking Chain also sampled this song on their UK #5 album “Greatest Hits .
• WON’T BE LONG NOW features the unmistakable vocals of fellow Planet Records artists the Pointer Sisters.
