Mac Davis is a country music legend and in the mid 1970’s was one of Americas most popular entertainers who found considerable success as both a singer, songwriter and actor. He wrote songs for Elvis Presley, including, In The Ghetto , which has became an all -time great and also wrote songs recorded by, Kenny Rogers, Bobby Goldsboro, Lou Rawls, Dolly Parton and Perry Como. He signed to Columbia in 1970 and the Song Painter album was released the following year.
