In the wake of strong sales and appreciation for our previous pairings of Conway Twitty ‘s original 1960sUSDecca albums, Poker is delighted to further explore this legendary Country artist ‘s vintage catalogue. Conway Twitty Sings and Look Into My Teardrops are the first two albums that Conway recorded after he took the decision to go country in 1965. Despite being in the style of Twitty ‘s peers, Buck Owens and George Jones, these two 1966 albums were not massive sellers as it took a while for some DJs to accept Conway ‘s commitment to Country.CT Sings contains both sides of Conway ‘s first two Decca singles, including his debut country chart hit GuessMy Eyes Were Bigger Than My Heart. It also contains one of the first recordings of Green Green GrassOf Home , cut well over a year before Tom Jones had a worldwide #1 with the song. Look Into My Teardrops features hardcore honky-tonk classics Fraulein , Almost Persuaded , There Stands The Glass and The Wild Side of Life , among itsmany other gems, and continues the full-on country approach of its predecessor.
