Description
Veritable desert of disco with his albums for Casablanca in the late 1970s, with Homer Banks production adding Southern Soul intensity to the bedroom styling that had proved so successful for Barry White. Randy also scored half-a-dozen R&B chart entries with singles lifted from his albums, including Top 30 hits I d Rather Hurt Myself (Than Hurt You) and We Ought To Be Doin It , included here. This CD includes Welcome to My Room , issued on the Parachute logo in 1978, and produced by the renowned soul partnership of Homer Banks and Carl Hampton, and Midnight Desire , on the Chocolate City logo in 1980, with Chuck Brooks replacing Hampton as Banks co-producer.This pairing of albums is described on the noted Soulwalking website as the high points of his (Brown s) career , and have long been sought in CD format by soul collectors, featuring as they do the zenith of sensual soul balladry along with some crisp and funky dance tracks.
