When the ear-catching Philly doo-wop combination of Ms Grace hit the top
of the UK charts on RCA in January 1975, it marked a return to the
best-sellers in the third phase of the career of The Tymes. Previously
they had enjoyed a UK hit with their up-beat version of Funny Girl
show-tune People on CBS/Direction in 1968 (while their chart history had
begun with shuffling beat-ballads So Much In Love and Wonderful
Wonderful on Parkway Records in 1963) This Shout! release marks the
first CD re-issue of the albums which followed the respective RCA and
CBS hits, Trustmaker bringing the group to the youth market in the early
70 s, and People employing a similar formula to their Parkway albums
with a mixture of show and movie tunes plus a sprinkling of distinctive
originals. The package carries the seal of approval of original Tymes
member Al Caesar Berry.
