Following the departure of saxophonist Patrick Clahar, Bill Bruford’s Earthworks reformed for a 2003 US tour with saxophonist/composer Tim Garland, fresh from playing with Chick Corea.
‘Random Acts Of Happiness’ was recorded live at Yoshi’s in San Francisco, in keeping with the dictum that it is on stage that jazz really happens. Garland’s contribution was immediately evident on fresh new songs like ‘Modern Folk’ and ‘Bajo del Sol’.
