With its title track (a Top 30 R&B hit duet with soul favourite Jean Carn) as a perennial much-loved soul groove of the 80s, Al Johnson s brilliant album Back For More is making its first appearance on CD outside Japan.

Originally released on Columbia Records in 1980, Back For More was produced by renowned musician Norman Connors.

Al wrote five and co-wrote one of the tracks, including the infectious School Of The Groove, the popular smooth jam I’ve Got My Second Wind and the beautiful ballad Peaceful Al Johnson co-founded the popular 60s soul group The Unifics then worked as a songwriter, arranger and conductor on projects with such artists as Special Delivery, Bloodstone and Tata Vega (on her first two Motown albums, reissued in April 2011 on Records).

The album features star players like Wah-Wah Watson, David T. Walker, Bobby Lyle and Lee Ritenour with background vocals by The Jones Girls
