ESOTERIC RECORDINGS are pleased to announce the release of a newly remastered & expanded edition of the classic 1972 album by the acclaimed singer-songwriter Al Stewart.
"Orange” was released in 1972 by CBS Records and marked the start of a change in career of Al Stewart. He had already released three albums and had become a popular attraction on the UK live music scene. "Orange” featured songs inspired by the break-up of his relationship with his then-girlfriend, (such as ‘Songs Out of Clay’, ‘Night of 4th of May’) but also saw Stewart explore progressive musical themes within his songs, particularly on the expansive ‘The News from Spain’, which featured impressive keyboard work from Rick Wakeman.
The album also featured additional guest musicians such as Tim Renwick (guitar), Brinsley Schwarz (guitar), John Wilson (drums) and many more. "Orange” would see Al Stewart reach a wider audience and gain his first foothold in the USA. This classic album has been newly remastered from the original CBS master tapes and includes both sides of the ‘News from Spain’ single as bonus tracks.
This Esoteric Recordings reissue includes a booklet, which fully restores the original album artwork and a new essay.
