Read MoreBrenda is the consummate jazz-leaning, soulful American singer-songwriter. Just before recording this album she co-wrote a song for Sting, “She Walks This Earth”, with which he won a Best Male Vocal Grammy–to add to the hits she has previously written for Oleta Adams, Donna Summer, Luther Vandross, Mary J Blige and Chaka Khan, among many others.
She spent two months in the UK working with writer/producers Bluey, from Incognito, former Soul II Soul writer/arranger Simon Law, and Hil St Soul producer VRS, and the result is that half the tracks on the album ‘BETWEEN THE SUN AND THE MOON’ have a UK flavour. In Los Angeles Brenda wrote and recorded the title track with guest vocalist PATTI AUSTIN, and recorded ‘Different Eyes’ with former Madonna producer Stephen Bray. Also included is a cover of Smokey Robinson’s ‘Tracks of My Tears’ produced by Lee Ritenour.
