Opening track “Lowdown” revisits the Boz Scaggs hit with stand-out vocals from Chaka Khan and Mario Biondi. Los Angeles rapper Luckyiam guests on “Everything That We Are”, while Leon Ware is in fine form on the string-laden ballad “Line In The Sand”. “1975” with vocals by Joy Rose is the story of Bluey’s introduction to jazz and soul music.
Christian Urich takes things in a soulful house direction on “Let’s Fall In Love Again”, while Chaka’s second contribution “The Song” is co-written by her. Instrumental “Expresso Madu-reira” was originally recorded by Brazilian group Banda Black Rio. The album closes with a rare lead vocal by Bluey himself on “Tell Me What To Do”.
As well as the guests, Incognito regular vocalists Maysa, Joy Rose, Tony Momrelle and Vanessa Haynes are all featured.
The album was recorded in London, Milan and Los Angeles . A video of “Lowdown” features Chaka Khan and Mario Biondi.
