The Christmas Single has been a hardy perennial of the British record release schedules since the birth of recorded music and Marc Almond very much felt that he would like to offer a couple of stellar interpretations of ‘off-piste’ Christmas songs himself as part of the varied mix of titles offered in his Singles Club.

Marc states: “On looking for songs with a Christmas feel that hadn’t been done to death, I remembered this gorgeous gem as performed by Vashti Bunyan in 1966. A cool Phil Spector-ish sound with a close-up, intimate vocal. “I might catch the flu, or a cold in my nose”, sings Vashti, encouraging us to snuggle up warm! This special limited edition 7” vinyl release track is produced by Neal X with Tim Weller on drums, especially for my Singles Club collection.”

The B-Side is a heartfelt cover of Billy Fury’s song ‘My Christmas Prayer’ that originated as part of a digitally delivered fan club message some years back. This is its first appearance on a physical format!
