Like ‘Pushin’ Too Hard’ this box contains plenty of the raw, exciting 1960s music retrospectively named garage punk but ‘Steppin’ Out’ spreads its net wider adding surf, frat rock and folk rock nuggets to the mix. These American genres combined with the influence of The British Invasion led to a garage rock explosion in 1965.
Eddie & The Hot Rods: Teenage Depression / Life On The Line, 2CD
This double CD features the first two albums by Punk / New Wave legends Eddie & The Hot Rods.
• Disc 1 is debut LP ‘Teenage Depression’ which reached No.43 in late 1976. It contains the No.35 charting title track and amongst the 13 bonus tracks is the No.43 ‘Live At The Marquee’ EP.
• The second disc has the No.27 chart album ‘Life On The Line’ which featured the hit singles ‘I Might Be Lying’ (No.44) and 'Quit This Town' (No.36) as well as the New Wave anthem and Top Ten smash "Do Anything You Wanna Do"
Nektar: A Tab in the Ocean, Deluxe Five Disc Limited Edition
An expanded deluxe edition of ‘A Tab in the Ocean’ by Nektar.
First issued in November 1972, the album was the second release by Nektar and was a milestone for the band as it set the template that that would bring them success in both Germany and the USA.
Originally featuring just four pieces, the albums first side would be dominated by the extensive title track which was a progressive rock tour de force. The remaining tracks, ‘Desolation Valley / Waves’, ‘Crying in the Dark’ and ‘King of Twilight’ would also become Nektar classics.
