Kim Wilde Gets Even Closer | Deluxe Editions Announced

Pop icon Kim Wilde ends an incredible year with not one, but two stunning new editions of her acclaimed 2025 studio album Closer - out 5th December 2025.

Originally released in January, Closer marked Kim’s fifteenth studio album and was hailed by critics as “effortlessly fresh” (Retropop) and “a family affair” (MusicOMH), showcasing a confident artist still evolving four decades into her career. The record reached the UK Top 30 and climbed into the Top 10 across several European charts, reaffirming Kim’s enduring status as one of British pop’s most beloved voices.

Now we close the year with two deluxe collector’s editions that bring fans even closer to the world of Closer:

Closer – Deluxe CD Edition

Presented in an elegant digipack format, this expanded CD edition includes the full ten-track album - featuring the singles “Midnight Train”, “Scorpio”, and “Trail Of Destruction” - plus an exceptional set of bonus recordings. Among the additions are BBC Piano Room performances, live tracks from London’s Indigo at The O₂, and a run of exclusive remixes by Project K, Pensacola Mist, Chrisarama, and more. Guest appearances from Midge Ure and Scarlett Wilde underline the album’s family affair spirit, blending Kim’s classic new-wave edge with fresh, modern production.

Closer – Deluxe 12" Picture Disc Edition

For vinyl collectors, Closer arrives as a limited 12-inch picture disc, displaying the striking album artwork on both sides and housed in a new metallic silver sleeve. Every copy includes a download code for all bonus material - including live recordings and remixes - as high-quality WAV files.

Scorpio – Limited Edition 7” Single

Rounding off the Closer campaign, the last ultra-limited edition 7" single - this time “Scorpio”, the album’s third and final single. The single features the album version on Side A and a pulsing drum & bass rework — the Cenzo D’N’B Dub Mix - on the flip.

Across all editions, Closer finds Kim Wilde reconnecting with the sound and spirit that made her a household name - from “Kids in America” to “You Keep Me Hangin’ On” - while embracing new influences and collaborators. Produced alongside her brother Ricky Wilde, with mixing and design by Sean J. Vincent, the album glows with confidence and creative freedom.
