From it's original theatre performances in 1972 and it's consolidated fame through the film in 1978, Grease has been one of the most loved popular screen and stage musicals of recent years. During the Hollywood treatment of this score much of the affectionate parody of looking at this period in America was lost, sadly losing the feel of innocence as was originally conceived. This Jay Records production is the most complete recording of this work ever made. It includes not only the film songs often best known to the public but also the less often heard complete set of stage songs.

Using stars from both sides of the Atlantic, the starring role of Danny is played by John Barrowman (Of the TV Series "Central Park West" and the West End and Broadway's Sunset Boulevard) who features on the cover.
