My Town / You Do Your Thing - Southside Johnny And The Asbury Jukes

My Town / You Do Your Thing
Released 21/11/10. My Town was released on Columbia in August 2002. It features Hell Yeah , a wild, swaggering number that epitomised their attitude and turned into their theme tune aswell as a big hit. The track (also a major hit), Good Clean Fun and others are all good, rollicking country numberswhile there's also a touch of heartache in Lie Before You Leave . The album, which was produced by Nashville high-flier Blake Chancey (he produced the Dixie Chicks Wide Open Spaces and Fly ) featuresmusicians from the Allman family, Chuck Leavell and Johnny Neel.

You Do Your Thing was released in May 2004 and brought two chart-topping singles If You Ever Stop Loving Me (the duo's first No 1, and No 30 in the pop charts) and Something To Be Proud Of . It was the duo's highest placed country album, making No 2 beating My Town by one position. The vast array of musicians included stylish guitarist Pat Buchanan, organist Reese Wynans (who'd played in Stevie Ray Vaughan s Double Trouble) aswell as, guitarist David Grissom, better known for his work with country rocker Joe Ely. There is also a collaboration with one of the duo's inspirations, Hank Williams Jnr, on I Ain t Got It All That Bad , while queen of the honky-tonkers Gretchen Wilson lends a hand on backing vocals.

Time For Another / No Strings EXPANDED EDITION
Ace was formed in December 1972 in Sheffield as 'Ace Flash and the Dynamos', but this name was quickly abbreviated to just Ace. The members were assembled from various other professional bands, and were all competent musicians.

Carrack and Comer had previously played with Warm Dust, and King with Mighty Baby, whose antecedents were the 1960s band The Action. Before the recording of their debut album, Five-A-Side, ex-Bees Make Honey drummer Fran Byrne replaced Witherington. The single "How Long?" (a song about one of the members leaving for another group) was taken from this record, and was a significant chart success, achieving a Top 20 place in the UK Singles Chart, and reaching number three in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.

These reissues of the long out of print albums come with a new updated booklet and notes by Michael Heatley and contains unreleased on CD BBC sessions from the time.
