A Little Spice: Expanded Edition
21st November 2011 Considered the premier U.K. soul band of the 80s and on to the 90s, Loose Ends was formed in 1981 with an original line-up of Carl MacIntosh, Steve Nichol and Jane Eugene.

Originally known as Loose End, the trio began recording a series of singles for Virgin Records in 1982. A year later, the group started work on their first LP with renowned Philadelphia producer Nick Martinelli cutting an entire album of original material, penned by the group members. In 1984, A LITTLE SPICE was issued in the UK and reached No. 46 on the UK album charts, spawning three charted singles, Tell Me What You Want, (Emergency) Dial 999 and Choose Me (Rescue Me). The US version of the album was issued by MCA Records in 1985 and reached the Top 5 on the R&Bcharts and No. 46 on Billboard s Top 200 Album chart.

This original UK version of A Little Spice has been out of print on CD for many years. This great expanded edition co-produced by renowned US reissue producer Donald Cleveland and SoulMusic.com’s David Nathan - includes the group s first three singles (as Loose End) and two additional Loose Ends non-album tracks as well as extended versions of the hit singles, Tell Me What You Want and Choose Me (Rescue Me).

Thankful- Expanded Edition
Released 17/10/11. Natalie Cole was enjoying international success in 1977 when Capitol Records issued her third album, THANKFUL. Like its predecessors, the LP was produced by the Chicago team of Chuck Jackson & Marvin Yancy and contained a number of Natalie's own compositions including the USTop 10 R&Bhit, Annie Mae. . A US Top 20 pop and Top 5 R&B charted album, THANKFUL (long out of print on CD) was certified platinum and boasted the US million-selling R&BNo. 1 and No. 15 pop single, Our Love. This reissue is the second Cole album from SoulMusic.com Records following the February 2011 release of Natalie Live (SMCR-5009D) Key cuts on THANKFUL include the gospel-driven title track; the smooth quiet storm -flavoured Cole fan favourite, La Costa (co-written by Natalie and her then-musical director Linda Williams); the jazzy Lovers (another tune co-penned by Natalie); and the Cole composition, the heartfelt Keeping A Light.

Singles A’s & B’s Vol.4 1973 – 1976
Released on 24/10/11.

Volume 4 of our series collating the singles recordings by Joe Tex from his years on the Dial label covers 1973 to 1976, chronologically sequenced, and featuring the A-side and B-side of each 45.

Here we have R&B hits Woman Stealer, Under Your Powerful Love and Have You Ever, plus crossover smash Ain't Gonna Bump No More (With No Big Fat Woman), a long with collectors items from that period, including the humour of Sassy, Sexy wiggle, the bluesy Mama Red, plus the supreme balladry of Baby It s Rainin displaying the versatility of the Clown Prince of Soul. With the exception of a July 1975 session in New Orleans (Have You Ever/Baby It s Rainin), all other tracks were recorded at the Soundshop in Nashville with Joe's road band and the cream of local session musicians, under the watchful production of Buddy Killen.

Follow the Rainbow : expanded edition
Released on 24/10/11. Jazz and funk pioneer George Duke achieved US crossover success in 1977 with the classic Reach For It followed by 1978's Dukey Stick. Released in 1979, FOLLOW THE RAINBOW, his fourth Epic Records LP continued George's acceptance among mainstream R&B and soul fans.

A US Top 5 jazz, Top 20 R&B and Top 60 pop charted album, FOLLOW THE RAINBOW included the Top 30 R&B hit single Say That You Will.

The master keyboardist who wrote all but one track on the album ( Funkin For The Thrill, written by bassist Byron Miller) brought together key players such as drummer Ndugu
Chancler, percussionist Sheila E., singers Lynn and Josie James and former Earth Wind & Fire member Roland Bautista for the fun n funk sessions. Key cuts on FOLLOW THE RAINBOW previously only available as a Japanese CD release include Duke grooves Party Down and I Am For Real, the slow jam Straight From The Heart and the mellow jazz instrumental Corine (written for George's wife).

Master Of The Game Expanded Edition
After his US R&B success with Reach For It (1977) and Dukey Stick (1978), MASTER OF THE GAME was jazz n funk pioneer George Duke s fifth album for Epic Records, the follow up to Follow The Rainbow (reissued by SoulMusic.com Records on SMCR-5029). A US Top 20 R&Band Top 200 pop charted album, MASTER OF THE GAME included the Top 30 R&B and club hit single I Want You For Myself featuring vocalist Lynn Davis.

The master keyboardist was the sole writer on eight tracks collaborating with famed percussionist Sheila E. on Games
and with guitarist David Myles, drummer Ricky Lawson and bassist Byron Miler all featured players on the album on the nine-minute-plus funk opus, The Alien Challenges The Stick/The Alien Succumbs To The Macho Intergalactic Funkativity Of The Funkblasters. Other key cuts on MASTER OF THE GAME previously only available as a Japanese CD release include the  instrumental Dog-Man and the EW&F-influenced cut Every Little Step I Take.

Ladies of the Eighties
In 1982, A TASTE OF HONEY returned with their final album, LADIES OF THE EIGHTIES, produced by Al McKay of Earth, Wind & Fire.

The band returned to the top ten of the R&B charts with the first single from the album, a cover of THE MIRACLES' Motown classic I'LL TRY SOMETHING NEW, which also reached the Top 30 on the Adult Contemporary charts and #41 on the Pop charts. Second single WE'VE GOT THE GROOVE also became an R&B hit.

LADIES OF THE EIGHTIES reached the Pop album charts and also became a sizeable R&B hit, peaking at #14.
