The Polyphonic Spree announce an album launch in-store gig at Rough Trade East
23 July 2013
In addition to their UK festival dates at Camp Bestival & Bestival, and their album launch gig at London's Village Underground on Tuesday 6th August, The Polyphonic Spree have announced an album launch in-store gig at London's Rough Trade East on Monday 5th August!
When The Polyphonic Spree first visited the UK to perform as special guests at David Bowie’s Meltdown, a few things happened. Firstly, the power in the Royal Festival Hall cut leaving the band to perform sans electric until, just at the crucial swooping chorus moment, it came back in and the place erupted. That set the tone. From then on Polyphonic Spree gigs across the UK were legend. The union Chapel with stage diving from the pulpit and Tim Delaughter walking across the pews as though floating on air, Glastonbury with the town cryer and a field of devotees in robes, Glasgow Barrowlands on the NME tour with the bouncing floor and the roar of 2000 Glaswegians ringing in our ears. The Spree made things happen to people live, insert your own moment from the many shows over the years in this space…….
It’s been a while but now, with new album, ‘Yes It’s True’, landing in August, The Polyphonic Spree return to London for a very special album launch show at Village Underground on Tuesday 6th August, the day after the new album hits the shops.
