OCTOBER & NOVEMBER RELEASES ON SOUL MUSIC RECORDS!
28 September 2012
We have a 2-CD set from MARY WELLS ("The Complete 20th Century Fox Recordings”), the first material she recorded after leaving Motown in 1964 and including for the first time ever on compact disc her rare "Love Songs To The Beatles” album; from SYREETA, the former wife of Stevie Wonder, there’s "One To One” which includes production by the brilliant Leon Ware as well as a contribution from Stevie via "Harmour Love”; THELMA HOUSTON is represented with the (much-anticipated by soul music and Motown fans worldwide) reissue of her very first recordings for Motown ("The MoWest Album”), an expanded edition that encompasses all of her material released on the imprint that was created when Motown moved to California in 1972; and then two great ‘70s albums recorded by THE MIRACLES (with Billy Griffin as lead singer following Smokey Robinson’s departure from the group) for Columbia Records both making their CD debut – "Love Crazy,” an expanded edition featuring the controversial track, "Spy For Brotherhood” and "The Miracles,” an ultra-rare LP that was only originally released in The Netherlands.
In November, we keep things rolling with releases from NANCY WILSON (our catalogue best-selling artist) – two Columbia albums, "Keep You Satisfied” and "Forbidden Lover”; a much-treasured classic jazz/funk album from THE BRECKER BROTHERS BAND, "Back To Back,” an expanded edition; and another brilliant reissue from master musician and recording artist GEORGE DUKE, his much-heralded "A Brazilian Love Affair,” an expanded edition.
And just to whet the appetite 2013 brings reissues from PATTI AUSTIN, RONNIE LAWS, ROBERTA FLACK & PEABO BRYSON, G.C. CAMERON, GWEN GUTHRIE, FREDA PAYNE, STEPHANIE MILLS and more! Ain’t no stoppin’ us now!
