All Of A Sudden
Following the success of his sold-out tour of the UK and Europe in November and December of last year, Lemon Recordings is proud to release "All of a Sudden", John Hiatt's seminal 1982 solo album - produced by the legendary Tony Visconti (of David Bowie and Marc Bolan Fame). The sound of this album encompasses all that was great about eighties music. The two best-known and loved tracks are the opener, "I look for love" and "My Edge of the Razor" which is rated as one of the finest songs ever written by the artist. Hiatt's career has spanned over 30 years and his songs have been covered by the likes of Bob Dylan, Rick Nelson, Searchers, Iggy Pop, Bonnie Raitt and Dr. Feelgood to name but a few. He is without a doubt one of music's most respected singer/songwriters of his time, and this album belongs in the record collection of every eighties music lover. Our Price: £9.95

Let The Picture Paint Itself / Jewel Of The South
Released on 17/10/11. Rodney Crowell was one of the most gifted songwriters of the Texas honky-tonk school of the 1970's and 80's. Let The Picture Paint Itself is an impressive record. A collection of Nashville heavy hitters were involved, including Trisha Yearwood and Patty Loveless helping out on backing vocals.

Jewel Of The South rocks and rolls with abandon, from the  40s-tinged big band sound of The Ballad Of Possum Potez to the soaring title track. The record contained a line-up of guitarists that anyone would die for John Jorgenson (once of the Desert Rose Band and already establishing himself as an Elton John sideman), Briton Albert Lee (another graduate of the Hot Band, and musical director for the Everly Brothers), Steuart Smith (later to join the Eagles family), former Cherry Bomb Richard Bennett, and Nashville stalwarts Billy Joe Walker Jr and Kenny Vaughan. When it comes to backing vocals, Vince Gill on The Ladder Of Love (co-written with Lee Roy Parnell), Raul Malo of the Mavericks on the Harlan Howard/Buck Owens number Storm Of Love , Claudia Church on Just Say Yes , and Kim Richey on Please Remember Me

Tantalizing Colours: The Reprise Recordings
MC SQUARED—featuring folk renegades from The Back Porch Majority, as well as legendary studio musicians JIM KELTNER and RANDY STERLING—recorded four exciting singles for Reprise Records during 1967 and 1968.

Sounding like a unique hybrid of The Mamas and The Papas and Jefferson Airplane, the Los Angeles-based quintet failed to generate commercial success, and as a result their long-lost 1968 album has since been confined to the vaults...UNTIL NOW!  The CD contains their four Reprise singles—two of which were produced by LENNY WARONKER (Van Dyke Parks, Randy Newman, Beau Brummels)—as well as the material that was to comprise their debut LP, all sourced from the original master tapes!

Filled with brilliant harmonies and psychedelically experimental left turns, MC SQUARED will appeal to fans of Curt Boettcher, Eternity’s Children, and The Millennium/Ballroom.

The 16-page, full-colour booklet includes rare, previously-unpublished photos, and extensive liner notes featuring the participation of original band members.
