The Family's Fine But This One's All Mine! / On My Own Again - David Frizzell

The Family's Fine But This One's All Mine! / On My Own Again
It couldn’t have been easy for David Frizzell being the younger brother of country legend Lefty Frizzell, but he achieved great chart success in the 1980s with his Warner / Viva label recordings both as a solo artist and with his duet recordings with Shelly West.

"The Family’s Fine, But This One’s All Mine” from 1982 reached No. 7 on the Billboard charts and remained there for 42 weeks.  It includes the No. 1 single and Country Music Association nominated song of the year ‘I’m Gonna Hire A Wino To Decorate Our Home’.  Also included is the No. 5 single ‘Lost My Baby Blues’.

"On My Own Again” from 1983 includes the Top 10 single ‘Where Are You Spending Your Nights These Days’ as well as ‘A Million Light Beers Ago’ and ‘Black and White’.

The track ‘We Won’t Be Hearing "Always Late” Anymore’ features the voices of all three Frizzell brothers, Lefty, David and Allen.

Both albums appear for the first time on CD.

Produced by Snuff Garrett and Steve Dorff.

Released on 13th January 2014

Strange fruit
Strange Fruit' is a great undiscovered work of the acoustic rock / classic rock genres, cited by some as a minor masterpiece. In the late 60's Gary Farr made the transition from leader of R&B outfit The T-Bones to a noted singer-songwriter. Recording an album for Marmalade Records, Farr then signed to CBS Records in 1970, recording this sole album for the label. Sessions featured contributions from RICHARD THOMPSON on lead guitar and leading lights of the underground MIGHTY BABY. Unavailable on CD for many years, 'Strange Fruit' is a record made by an often overlooked singer-songwriter made available once more by Esoteric Recordings and is certain to appeal to all who adore acoustic music both melancholic and uplifting. The reissue also features the first ever CD appearance of the single edit of 'Revolution of the Season'. Our Price: £10.95
