And Did Those Feet
When Mick Mercer, one of the most respected music journalists with some 30 years in the trenches, cites The Dancing Did as his favourite English band of all time, you know we're talking about something a little special. Yet their epic output, has always been a little too subversive and clever for the mainstream and therefore has never before been available on CD. Cherry Red's re-release puts this travesty to rights, restoring their captivating sole long-player "And Did Those Feet" in full. As if that wasn't enough, the package comes complete with bonus material from their time with Stiff and Kamera Records, including all their a-sides, plus never before heard soundboard live recordings. The package also includes Mick's detailed liner notes, written in co-operation with the band, plus exclusive photographs and memorabilia. The Dancing Did's amalgam of the rural Gothic, replete with folk jigs and Hank Marvin-esque guitar, as well as Tim Harrison's unfailingly intricate and humorous lyrics, mark them out as one of the great undiscovered treasures of the early 80s post-punk milieu. Dreams Interrupted
Glaxo Babies were the fore-runners of a wave of Bristol music that spawned The Pop Group, Rip Rig & Panic, Maximum Joy & Pigbag, who all became household names as the jagged edged angst movement quickly gathered respect throughout the world. A firm favourite with John Peel, the Glaxo's soon notched up their first session following on from the highly acclaimed first release - the 12" This your Life EP which included the classic "Who Killed Bruce Lee". Always underrated but never dismissed, they fought back with the blistering Christine Keeler 45 often sighted as the bands finest moment. This collection spans their career, illustrating just how unique and original the Glaxos were, and how their relevance seems ever present with today's jagged edged sounds. Our Price: £9.95

World Of Rubber
Released 16/03/09. Second Layer featured Adrian Borland and Graham Bailey, founding members of The Sound . They pioneered the use of drum machines and mixed machine based soundscape with more human elements created a sound ahead of its time. After releasing a couple of singles in 1979 and 1980 they released World of Rubber on Cherry Red in 1981. A beautiful, hard and emotional record. It contained many of the same elements as The Sound , not much of a surprise considering the line up, but the machine element gives it a very different sound. The Album has never been on CD and the vinyl is very hard to track down. Bonus Track Skylon previously unavailable Our Price: £9.95
