Battle Hymn: Remastered - Wild Turkey

Battle Hymn: Remastered
· NEWLY REMASTERED EDITION CD OF THIS CLASSIC ALBUM FROM FORMER JETHRO TULL MEMBER GLENN CORNICK’s BAND
· REMASTERED FROM THE ORIGINAL MASTER TAPES
· BOOKLET WITH FULLY RESTORED ARTWORK & ESSAY

ESOTERIC RECORDINGS are pleased to announce the release of a newly remastered CD edition of the classic first album by WILD TURKEY, "Battle Hymn”.

Former JETHRO TULL bassist Glenn Cornick formed Wild Turkey after departing Tull in 1971. The initial line-up of the band featured Glenn Cornick (bass), Graham Williams (guitar), Alan "Tweke” Lewis (guitar), John "Pugwash” Weathers (drums) and Gary Pickford-Hopkins (vocals). Before recording their first album, Weathers and Williams departed the fold to be replaced by Jon Blackmore (guitar & vocals) and Jeff Jones (drums). The album "Battle Hymn” was released by Chrysalis Records in 1971 and was well received by fans and critics alike.

Unavailable officially on CD for over fifteen years, this classic album has been newly remastered from the original Chrysalis master tapes and features a booklet that restores the original album artwork and a new essay.

Egg
This now legendary debut album by Egg featured the talents of Dave Stewart on Keyboards, Mont Campbell on Bass and Clive Brooks on Drums. Egg were associated with the so-called 'Canterbury' style of rock music pioneered by artists such as Caravan and Soft Machine. The trio produced music of startling originality and energy, drawing on influences ranging from rock to jazz to psychedelia to classical. This fusion resulted in one of the most enduring releases to appear on Decca's short lived Nova imprint and is now critically regarded as one of the more unique albums of the early 1970's. Re-mastered from the original tapes, the Esoteric Recordings reissue includes three bonus tracks, including both sides of the bands only single and 'Movement 3' from the albums notorious opus 'Symphony No. 2', now restored in its rightful place in this extended composition. Our Price: £10.95

Fat Mattress ll – Expanded Edition
Released 29/06/09. 'Fat Mattress II' was the second album by the band formed by jimi hendrix Experience bass guitarist Noel Redding. Recorded in late 1969, the album followed on in style from the band's debut album (also released this month on Esoteric). Issued in 1970 the album failed to get the attention it deserved at the time of release but has subsequently been hailed as a classic of the era. This Esoteric reissue has six bonus tracks taken from the unreleased third Fat Mattress album. Our Price: £10.95

Arena
Released in March 1971, 'Arena' was the second and final album by the group Marsupilami. Initially a folk-based group the band evolved into one of the most adventurous, if unsung, bands of the early 1970's, producing two stunningly original Mellotron soaked albums. Featuring a line-up of brothers Fred and Leary Hasson (lead vocals and harmonica and keyboards respectively), Dave Laverock (guitar), Richard Lathan Hicks (bass), Jessica Stanley Clarke (flute, vocals) and Mike Fouracre (drums), Marsupilami drew early comparisons to such contemporaries as Quintessence and Gryphon, although in truth the group were far more experimental and powerful. Produced by Peter Bardens (soon to form CAMEL), the CD release of 'Arena' will be welcomed by the legions of progressive rock afficianados. With this 24-bit remastered edition from ESOTERIC RECORDINGS, the conceptual 'Arena' has never sounded better.
