All That Jazz 2CD - Breathe

All That Jazz 2CD
A consummate, polished pop album, "All That Jazz” was originally released in 1988. Now, for the first time, it has been given the deluxe edition treatment to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
This 2 CD collection features 33 tracks including the original 11 song configuration plus 15 tracks that make their appearance on CD for the very first time anywhere.
The bonus material on this collection features all the single versions, non-album b-sides, and as many remixes and alternate versions that could fit across 2 CDs.
The album includes the international smash hit, "Hands To Heaven” (US #2, UK #4), which has been a radio staple since it was released in 1988.
Breathe were the first British group to have 3 top ten singles from a debut album on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US. "How Can I Fall?” (US #3), "Don’t Tell Me Lies” (US #10) and the aforementioned "Hands To Heaven” are all included.
The CD booklet contains comprehensive sleeve notes including contributions from producer Chris Porter who also engineered "Faith”, George Michael’s blockbuster album from 1987. Additionally, it features a singles discography and all three different versions of the album cover.

Different Light
Different Light is an album by The Bangles released in January 1986. It is their best known album, with a Top 5 hit single and a No. 1 hit. The album s Top 40 sound was a departure from their earlier 60s style sound. This was the first album in which bassist Michael Steele sings lead vocals on some tracks.

Three of five singles were written by someone other than the Bangles: Manic Monday (written by Prince under the pseudonym Christopher), If She Knew What
She Wants and Walk Like An Egyptian . The other two singles were Following and Walking Down Your Street .

This reissue contains a whole bonus disc of rare b-sides some appearing for the first time on CD and the booklet is packed with rare covers and a note by Mojo’s Daryl Easlea.

Friends 2CD
Shalamar’s Friends was one of the biggest and most celebrated classic soul albums of the 1980s. BBR is proud to present the first ever deluxe edition of the album.
Shalamar was formed in 1977 by Dick Griffey, the booking agent for the legendary R&B TV show Soul Train, and British music producer, Simon Soussan. Initially they used faceless session musicians but when their first single, ‘Uptown Medley’ (R&B #10 / Pop #25) found chart success Griffey created a permanent group. After ‘Take That To The Bank’ (US R&B #11 / Pop #79) Shalamar’s classic line-up of Jody Watley, Jeffrey Daniel and Howard Hewitt continued to have chart success on both sides of the Atlantic with infectious pop-soul cuts like ‘The Second Time Around’ (US R&B #1 / Pop #8) and ‘Make That Move’ (US R&B #6 / Pop #60) all released on Griffey’s Solar imprint.
In 1982 the group released their seventh studio album FRIENDS, which enhanced on the soul groove sound that had brought the group previous success. The opening track and lead US single from the album ‘A Night To Remember’ (US R&B #8 / Pop #44) became an instant R&B classic. The second single in the US was the album closer ‘I Can Make You Feel Good’ (US R&B #33 / Pop #102), another classic mid-tempo R&B dancer that does exactly as it suggests.
FRIENDS enjoyed massive popularity and unprecedented chart success in the UK, becoming one of the biggest selling alums of the year. FRIENDS peaked at #6 on the UK album chart during an incredible 72-week run. The four singles for the UK market, ‘I Can Make You Feel Good’, ‘A Night To Remember’, ‘There It Is’ and ‘Friends’ reached #7, #5, #5 and #12 respectively on the UK singles chart helping Shalamar retain huge popularity to this day. Jeffrey Daniel introduced body popping and the back slide (later renamed the moon walk by Daniel’s student, Michael Jackson) to UK TV audiences on Top Of The Pops in July of 1982 when promoting ‘A Night to Remember’.
BBR is very proud to bring you FRIENDS, completely re-mastered and repackaged complete with extensive liner notes and extended bonus content including a new interview with Jody Watley and a second disc of alternative versions from the US and UK single releases. FRIENDS is a must have for all R&B, SOUL, 80s POP and DISCO fans out there!

Spellbound: Expanded Edition
•    Spellbound, the second album from reggae-pop crossover sensations Amazulu, is issued on CD for the first time. This Special Edition also marks its first ever UK release.

•    Spellbound features the 1987 Top 40 cover of Tommy James & The Shondells' ‘Mony Mony’, and the subsequent singles ‘Wonderful World, Beautiful People’ and ‘My Heart Belongs To You’ (originally credited as a solo release from lead singer Annie Ruddock).

•    Production duties on Spellbound were handled by Kurtis Mantronik, Ronald Bell of Kool & The Gang and Barry Blue alongside longtime collaborators Andy Hill and Dennis Bovell. Bonus material on this release includes sought-after 12" mixes by PWL Mixmaster Pete Hammond and Clivillés & Cole, many on CD for the first time.

•    This Special Edition features sleeve notes from Annie and design by Bruno Tilley, who was responsible for most of the original Amazulu sleeves. The extensive booklet also features additional pictures, lyrics and discography.

•    Amazulu debuted on the indie Towerbell label in 1983, before signing with Island Records and scoring a succession of hits including ‘Excitable’, ‘Too Good To Be Forgotten’ and ‘Montego Bay’. By 1987, the band had slimmed down to a trio and moved to EMI, finally parting ways in 1988.

•    A great 'lost' album from a very fondly-remembered act, Spellbound is an essential listen for 80s aficionados and a welcome addition to the Cherry Pop catalogue.
