Titus Groan
Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the release of a newly re-mastered and expanded edition of the classic 1978 album by Belgian Progressive Rock legends Machiavel. Signing to EMI’s Harvest label in 1976, the band recorded this, their third album, in 1978. Featuring Mario Guccio (vocals), Jean Paul Devaux (Guitar), Albert Letecheur (keyboards), Roland De Greef(Bass) and Marc Y Saye (Drums), this excellent group sang in English and drew on many influences to create their own brand of Progressive music. Extremely popular in Europe, Machiavel blended power, melody and symphonic touches to create a style uniquely their own. Mechanical Moonbeams is arguably their finest hour, hailed by many as a Mellotron soaked masterpiece. This Esoteric Recordings reissue has been re-mastered from the master tapes and includes two bonus tracks.

First Loss
The quartet comprised Wolf-Rodiger Uhlig (organ, piano, vocals), Wolfgang Rumler (guitar, vocals), Andreas Scholz (bass) and Schim Schmidt (drums, vocals) and were responsible for recording one of the finest albums for the Kuckuck label. incorporating jazz and classical influences, the album was dominated by uhlig’sorgan playing and was arguably the hardest album released by Kuckuck. Murphy blend was a short lived group with first loss being their sole recorded legacy. This re-mastered edition of first loss is an essential release for all lovers of so called Krautrock. Arena
Released in March 1971, 'Arena' was the second and final album by the group Marsupilami. Initially a folk-based group the band evolved into one of the most adventurous, if unsung, bands of the early 1970's, producing two stunningly original Mellotron soaked albums. Featuring a line-up of brothers Fred and Leary Hasson (lead vocals and harmonica and keyboards respectively), Dave Laverock (guitar), Richard Lathan Hicks (bass), Jessica Stanley Clarke (flute, vocals) and Mike Fouracre (drums), Marsupilami drew early comparisons to such contemporaries as Quintessence and Gryphon, although in truth the group were far more experimental and powerful. Produced by Peter Bardens (soon to form CAMEL), the CD release of 'Arena' will be welcomed by the legions of progressive rock afficianados. With this 24-bit remastered edition from ESOTERIC RECORDINGS, the conceptual 'Arena' has never sounded better.

Armaggedon
Esoteric recordings continue with releases on their new reactive imprint, (dedicated to reissues of classic German rock), with a journey into the catalogue of Eckart Rahn s legendary Kuckuck label. Kuckuck was responsible for releasing many great albums in Germany in the early 1970s, including this sole album by the legendary Armaggedon. Not to be confused with other bands of the same name, the quartet comprised Frank Diez (lead guitar, vocals), Manfred Galatik (keyboards, bass guitar, vocals), Michael Nurnberg (bass& rhythm guitars) and Jurgen Lorenzen (drums, percussion).

The album was one of the earliest issued on the Kuckuck imprint and was a fine hard progressive rock alb um with Frank Diez’s guitar work inspired by the likes of Jeff Beck and Jimi Hendrix.
