Sunshine Girl: The Complete Recordings

The Parade were Murray MacLeod (also a member of The Roger Nichols Trio/Small Circle of Friends), Jerry Riopelle (Phil Spector protégé and former Philles staff producer), and Smokey Roberds (songwriter and actor). Originally signed to A&M Records, The Parade not only created a definitively West Coast pop sound but also unknowingly helped establish the sunshine pop genre via their 1967 Billboard Top 20 hit, ‘Sunshine Girl’.

This first-ever complete collection of the trio’s recorded output features the talents of no less than a pre-Loggins Jimmy Messina, Earl Palmer, Hal Blaine, David Gates, and other L.A./Wrecking Crew luminaries.

The gorgeous 16 page full-colour booklet also includes rare, previously unpublished photos and comprehensive liner notes that feature the participation of all original band members.

Out There (Official Remastered Edition)

Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the release of the official remastered edition of RICK WAKEMAN’s 2003 conceptual album with The New English Rock Ensemble, "Out There”.

Inspired by Space Exploration and dedicated to the crew of the Space Shuttle Columbia, who lost their lives in the Columbia Space Shuttle disaster, "Out There” was one of Rick’s most "progressive” albums, featuring expansive pieces and the contributions of excellent musicians Damian Wilson (vocals), Ant Glynne (guitars), Lee Pomeroy (Bass) and Tony Fernandez (drums).

Unavailable for some years, "Out There” has been newly remastered and features an illustrated booklet with essay and is the first in a series of official RICK WAKEMAN releases on Esoteric Recordings.

A Way Of Life: Anthology 1967-1976
•    The Family Dogg were a British harmony pop act revolving around the talents of writer/singer/producers Steve Rowland, Albert Hammond and Mike Hazlewood. Rowland was an American actor who met Hammond in Spain. In 1966, they formed Family Dogg with Hazelwood and singer Christine Holmes (alias Kristine Sparkle), which competed for their time with hit productions for the likes of Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich and The Herd.

•    Family Dogg debuted with a stunning cover of The Bee Gees’ ‘The Storm’ for MGM in late 1967. Two singles followed  on Fontana (which followed a solo single for the label by Steve Rowland) before the group landed at Bell Records in early 1969, where they immediately scored a UK # 6 hit with ‘A Way Of Life’. An album followed, named after their hit, boasting among the session players three-quarters of Led Zeppelin and Elton John!

•    Members of Family Dogg also worked on spin-off singles created to Steve & Edward and Pancho & Cisco, also released on Bell. In 1970, as Steve Rowland & Family Dogg, the band enjoyed a No. 2 hit in Holland with ‘Sympathy’, issued on Polydor.

•    In 1972, a new-look Family Dogg (with vocalist Ireen Sheer) returned on Buddah Records. By this time, Rowland was producing the then-unknown singer-songwriter Rodriguez (recently immortalised in the documentary film Sugar Man). As a result, Family Dogg recorded half a dozen Rodriguez songs during this period – including his exclusive composition 'Advice To Smokey Robinson'.

•    This new 2-CD set offers for the first time the complete Family Dogg output, including rare solo ventures, between 1967 and 1976. The sleeve-notes boast an interview with Steve Rowland.

•    This CD is released 21st April and will not be shipped prior to this date.
