Mostly 1967-1969 peak period Jerry Ross produced hit tunes on Mercury. This special compilation takes the story onto the early 70’s with stomping singles released on Gordy and Event, including Barry White penned I Feel Love Coming On.Jay Proctor was backed by an all white band, becoming one of the first integrated units in US pop music. On the sessions backing vocals were by Ross’ regular unit of Ashord,Simpson and Melba Moore. The whole ‘northern soul’ mixture stewed by Ross was a Motown beat with a Philly production sound.
