Chain Reaction
The Spellbinders, produced by soul legend Van McCoy, recorded for just
three years during the mid- 60's, cutting a selection of sweet soul
ballads and storming dancers which have since become firm favourites
with Northern Soul fans. 'Chain Reaction' was included on their LP
and is the title track of this album, while 'Help Me' was a club hit
single and is also included here along with their 1965 ballad crossover
US chart hit 'For You'. The group's LP has long been a hard-to-find
collectors' item, including several songs written by Van McCoy, and we
have added to that the two 45s recorded after the LP to present a
comprehensive collection of their music, including great versions of
ballads "Danny Boy" and "Since I Don't Have You"

Definition
Chrysalis' lone 1968 long player is a hugely respected and much sought-after jazz/folk/ rock crossover from the psychedelic era which has recently earned classic status among collectors and aficionados. It's a most mysterious album boasting exotic song titles, an alluring silver gatefold sleeve and some very zen liner notes... and the twelve pieces of music contained within its grooves are unlike any others recorded before or since. Flitting butterfly-like between the gossamer-light acoustics of 'Cynthia Gerome', the fuzz-drenched satire of 'Father's Getting Old' and the ragtime psychedelia of '30 Poplar', the album takes lush woodwind and string arrangements, full-on acid-rock weird-outs and unbearably delicate jazz vibes and mixes them up into one giant bittersweet birthday cake! Covered in insects!! Featuring the full in-depth story behind the brand and with brand new interview material and contributions from all the surviving band members, the producer, the arranger, the owner of the studio and even the photographer, why don’t you join the growing throng of happy people who ecstatically name this as their favourite album of all time. Go on, you know you want to... Our Price: £9.95

Astro-Sounds From Beyond The Year 2000
What happens if you take legendary surf guitarist Jerry Cole, after his brief spell with The Animated Egg and put him in a room with a lush orchestra and lots of Philip K Dick books?
According to the sleeve of the original mid-‘60s album: 'A space Odyssey in the beat of today – with the far out sounds of tomorrow's uncharted trip beyond the now generation.'
Yes, all that and song titles like ‘Re-Entry To Mog' and the supreme ‘A Disappointed Love With A Desensitized Robot'. ‘Astro-Sounds From Beyond The Year 2000' is a work of psychedelic genius with a Krautrock-styled rhythm, a trippy meander through the planets that's very PiL in places over ten years before the fact. As groovy as it gets!
