Fit Me In - Key

Fit Me In
German Volker Langefeld and Englishman Alan Warren were the brains behind The Key, whose 1978 album "Fit Me In" is a largely undiscovered jewel in the '70s power-pop crown. Whilst similarly conceived long players by the likes of Klaatu and Liverpool Echo - who also wore their Paul McCartney/Emitt Rhodes/Eric Carmen influences on their sleeves - have become acknowledged classics, The Key's debut has remained a mystery to all but the lucky few; until now! Recorded in Germany and England, released on EMI's short-lived Emily subsidiary, the album sold well and the duo recruited a touring band embarking on a whirlwind of promotional activity, appearing on TV and radio shows everywhere. A third member, Michael Lowey, joined the group in time to record a follow-up single and a couple of unreleased tracks (all included here) but the band were dropped by EMI as quickly as they'd been picked up. First reissue anywhere ever of this much missed album

ESOTERIC RECORDINGS are pleased to announce the release of a newly remastered edition of the classic third album by SPIROGYRA, "BELLS, BOOTS AND SHAMBLES”. Initially formed by duo Martin Cockerham and Mark Francis in Bolton in 1968, the band expanded when Cockerham was a student in Canterbury at the end of 1969. In 1973 the band recorded their third album, released on Polydor Records. By this time Spirogyra had become a core of Martin Cockerham (guitar, vocals) and Barbara Gaskin (lead vocals) with Steve Borrill (bass) and guest musicians Dave Mattacks (drums), Julian Cusack (violin, keyboards), Henry Lowther (trumpet), John Boyce (cello), Stan Sulzman (flute) and Steve Ashley (whistle).

"BELLS, BOOTS AND SHAMBLES” is a highly sought after and regarded album of the era. This Esoteric Recordings newly remastered edition celebrates this legendary album, adding a rare bonus track and featuring a booklet with new essay.
