Ludo - Ivor Cutler

Ludo
The only official recording by the Ivor Cutler Trio, this collection of some of Mr. Cutler's best loved songs, poems and stories was recorded in laissez-faire style by George Martin at Abbey Road, as one of the very first Air Productions. Highlighting the celebrated Scottish poet and raconteur's skill as a pianist and arranger as well as his unique way with language, it is one of his best recordings. Having launched Mr. Cutler's film career with a typically enigmatic starring role in the Beatles' film "Magical Mystery Tour", which made him a film star of some renown, it was inevitable that Parlophone the Beatles' then label, would want a recording by the great man on it's catalogue.....and let's face it, who wouldn't!

I Can See Your House From Here - Expanded Edition
Unlike many bands whose careers had begun in the early 1970 s, CAMEL still continued to enjoy much success at the close of the decade. I Can See Your House From Here was a revitalized work that included many fine songs such as Ice (featuring Phil Collins on Percussion), Hymn To Her and Your Love is Stranger Than Mine. Produced by Rupert Hine, the album was a chart success and spawned an extensive World tour. This Esoteric Recordings edition has been re-mastered from the original tapes and features two Bonus Tracks, including a live version of Ice recorded by the BBC in 1981. The accompanying CD booklet includes copious photographs and memorabilia and a new essay.

Andy Warhol
Dana Gillespie is nowadays known as a blues/R&B/jazz singer, but in her younger years she had two brief (but impressive) alternative careers. In 1967/68 she made two albums of folk pop, Foolish Seasons and Box Of Surprises. A long time friend and lover of David Bowie, she sang backing vocals on Ziggy Stardust and was signed to Bowie’s management company Mainman. For that company, she made two LPs, the superb Weren’t Born A Man (1973) and Ain’t Gonna Play No Second Fiddle (1974). Despite production from David Bowie, Mick Ronson and Robin Cable, and the support of the best studio musicians of the day, neither album was a hit and Gillespie concentrated on her sex-bomb film career before reinventing herself as a bawdy blues mama in the 1980s. No Smoke Without Fire: Expanded Edition
After nearly 30 years of waiting we can finally announce the release of Tracie's long awaited 2nd album 'No Smoke Without Fire'. It was originally intended for release in 1985.

•    This is the first time the album has been available as a complete collection, on CD or any format.

•    This 17 track collection features ten of the tracks intended for the original album plus seven bonus tracks.

•    The bonus tracks include versions of Tracie's singles; ‘The House That Jack Built’ - 1st Mix, ‘I Can't Leave You Alone’ - Pick 'n' Mix version and ‘(When You) Call Me’ penned by Paul Weller. Also featured are demo versions of ‘The Waking Hours’, and ‘Good For You’ and the 7" version of ‘Baby Come Back’ and ‘19’ - The Wickham Mix.

•    The 1st Mix of Tracie's best known single ‘The House That Jack Built’ is included. It was intended to be the single version before Paul Weller decided to speed it up and make other minor changes. The resulting version then went on to peak at #9 in the UK singles chart.

•    Tracie has written the detailed sleeve notes for this release.

•    A comprehensive CD booklet has been produced with a new front cover design, a full UK discography and photos from Tracie's own collection from behind the scenes on tour in Japan and elsewhere.

•    Tracie was signed by Respond Records after sending in a demo, thanks to an advert in Smash Hits magazine. Within days she was in the studio with Paul Weller and the resulting debut single, ‘The House That Jack Built’ followed in Spring 1983, peaking at #9 in the UK singles charts. Tracie went on to enjoy chart and critical success with her soulful pop, with seven further singles released along with the Far From The Hurting Kind album.
