Hard Rock from The Middle East - Devils Anvil

Hard Rock from The Middle East
The Devil's Anvil (Steve Knight (rhythm guitar, bass, bouzouki), Jerry Satpir (lead guitar, vocals), Elierzer Adoram (accordion), and Kareem Issaq (oud, vocals)) got together in the burgeoning hip and happening mid sixties Greenwich Village scene, playing Middle Eastern influenced music at folk cafes and rock clubs. Eventually they teamed up with Felix Pappalardi (producer of Cream's "Disraeli Gears", later to play in Mountain). He began playing bass with the band and eventually scored the group a record deal. Contained herein is absolutely kick ass world-influenced rock, with impassioned Arabic vocals, electric oud, bouzouki, tamboura, durbeki as well as fuzz guitar, bass and drums, and the best version of "Misirlou" outwith Dick Dale's... A unique and happening album... Very, very highly recommended! Nay, Essential
