Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce a new
remastered edition of the wonderful 1974 album by JIM CAPALDI, “Whale Meat
Again”. The album was released just prior to the final offering of the 1970s
from Jim’s band TRAFFIC.
Once again Jim utilised the services of the
legendary Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section of Roger Hawkins (Drums), David Hood
(Bass) and Barry Beckett (keyboards), along with a guests such as STEVE
WINWOOD. Featuring tracks such as ‘It’s Alright’, ‘Whale Meat Again’ and
‘Summer is Fading’, “WHALE MEAT AGAIN” was another fine album from one of
Britain’s most talented musicians.
This Esoteric Recordings reissue includes the bonus
track ‘TRICKY DICKY RIDES AGAIN’ and has been re-mastered from the original
master tapes. The reissue includes a booklet that fully restores all original
album artwork and features a new essay.
Calpadi’s second solo
1974 LP is a clear gem of sweet harmonies and easy rolling grooves’.
Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the release of a new re-mastered and expanded edition of the legendary self-titled debut album by BARCLAY JAMES HARVEST.
In April 1968 Barclay James Harvest released their first single, Early Morning, on EMI’s Parlophone label and became the first signing to EMI’s progressive label Harvest Records (named after them) the following year. Their self-titled debut album was released in June 1970, and saw BJH successfully fuse an orchestra with rock to create a unique, sometimes pastoral, form of symphonic progressive rock.
