Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce a release drawn from the Todd Rundgren archives of his performance at the Warfield theatre in San Francisco on 10th March 1990 as part of the “Nearly Human” tour.
Following a four year hiatus, Todd Rundgren relocated to California and released the album “Nearly Human” in 1989, the result of live studio sessions involving a host of musicians, to much acclaim. Todd embarked on a tour to promote the album, a highlight of which was a memorable performance in San Francisco on 10th March 1990.
Featuring a touring band that included Byron Allred (keyboards), Lyle Workman (guitar), Larry Tagg (bass), Vince Welnick (piano), Max Haskett (trumpet), Bobby Strickland (saxophone), Michael Urbano (drums) and backing vocalists Michele Gray, Jenny Muldaur and Shandi Shinnamon, the concert was a memorable affair that was captured by a mobile recording unit and highlights were later broadcast on FM radio.
Featuring classic tracks such as ‘Hello It’s Me’, ‘Love In Action’, ‘Real Man’ and ‘Can We Still Be Friends” along with more contemporary material. This two CD set is a fine momento of a truly special moment in Todd Rundgren’s career.
Remastered from the original master tapes, “Live At The Warfield” is the newest release in Esoteric recordings’ Todd Rundgren archive series.
