Rare & Fatty (Unreleased Recordings 1976-1997)
Available again... no need to pay £40 for second hand copy on Amazon!

This collectable Bad Manners album re-issued in its original USA sleeve and features original and rare studio recordings first released in the UK on T-Leaf Records in 1997 and on Moon Ska in the USA a year later, and this release features the excellent extensive sleeve notes from that American release.

This album taken from Buster Bloodvessel’s personal vaults includes original versions of ‘Night Bus To Dalston’ and ‘Elizabethan Reggae’ and a rare version of the bands the Top 50 hit ‘That’ll Do Nicely’.

Stand out tracks include the excellent covers of Dave & Ansell Collins ‘Double Barrel’, and the Nancy Sinatra classic ‘These Boots (Were Made For Stomping’) and an excellent re-working of Prince Buster’s ‘Shakin’ Up Orange street’ into ‘Shaking Up Downing Street’.

A must for Ska and Bad Manners collectors!

From A to B/Anwhere
New Musik formed in 1977 in London, growing out of a casual band of South London school friends who jammed together under the name End of the World Songwriter and record producer Tony Mansfield was the lead vocalist and frontman for the band, and was joined in the original line-up by, bassist Tony Hibbert and drummer Phil Towner.Rather than immediately pursue a recording contract, New Musik chose to hone their craft first. Working during down times at a recording studio where Mansfield was informally employed as a session musician and apprentice sound engineer, the foursome recorded most of what would become their first two albums before approaching the UK record label, GTO Records with the finished master tapes. However, before GTO released the first New Musik single, Straight Lines, in August 1979, Straker had left for a solo career, He was replaced by Clive Gates, and the new line-up completed New Musik's debut album, From A to B, which was released in April 1980.New Musik made their first appearance on the BBC TV pop programme, Top of the Pops, in October 1979 with their debut Straight Lines, From A to B reached the Top 40 in the UK Albums Chart and contained four hit singles: Straight Lines, Living by Numbers, This World of Water and Sanctuary. The band also topped the French singles chart with On Islands from the same album.

Kestrel: Remastered 2CD Expanded Edition
NEW REMASTERED & EXPANDED 2 CD EDITION OF THIS LONG LOST CLASSIC 1975 ALBUM BY KESTREL
WITH 6 BONUS TRACKS (PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED ON CD IN THE UK)
REMASTERED FROM THE ORIGINAL TAPES
FULLY RESTORED ARTWORK AND NEW LINER NOTES

Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the release of a newly re-mastered and expanded edition of the classic 1975 self-titled album by KESTREL. Hailing from Newcastle, the band featured Tom Knowles (lead vocals), Dave Black (guitar, vocals), John Cook (keyboards, mellotron), Fenwick Moir (bass) and Dave Whitaker (drums), who had previously been with Newcastle trio GINHOUSE.

Signing to Cube Records in 1974, Kestrel recorded their sole eponymously titled album in 1975, with the majority of the compositions written by Dave Black. A fine example of melodic Progressive Rock, the album featured some outstanding tracks, including the gorgeous "The Acrobat” and the stunning epic "August Carol”. Inexplicably the album failed to sell in significant quantities and within a short time Kestrel dis-banded, leaving just one album and a single as their recorded legacy.

Four decades later, "Kestrel” is now rightly regarded as a true over-looked classic of the Progressive Rock era, with original vinyl copies being impossibly rare and changing hands for huge sums, particularly in Japan.

Newly re-mastered from the original tapes, this reissue of "Kestrel” has been expanded to include six bonus tracks, with four of them previously unreleased in the UK, and also includes a booklet that fully restores the original album artwork and features a new essay.

NB: This title is released 23rd Feb 2015 and will not be dispatched until this date.
