Not Fragile / Four Wheel Drive - Bachman Turner Overdrive

Not Fragile / Four Wheel Drive
Bachman–Turner Overdrive are a Canadian rock group from Canada, that had a series of hit albums and singles in the 1970s, selling over 7 million albums in that decade alone. Their 1970s catalogue included five Top 40 albums and six Top 40 singles. The band has sold nearly 30 million albums worldwide, Many of their songs, including ‘Let It Ride’, ‘You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet’, ‘Takin' Care of Business’, ‘Hey You’ and ‘Roll On Down the Highway’ still receive play on FM classic rock stations.

Not Fragile is the bands third album and was released in 1974. The title is thought to be a response to Yes' Fragile. The style has been described as a cross between Mountain and early ZZ Top. The arrival of Blair Thornton (replacing Tim Bachman) gave the band a true second lead guitar to pair with Randy Bachman, and dual-guitar solos are prominent features. It proved to be the group's most popular album, and is the only BTO album to have reached #1 on the US Pop Album charts. ‘Roll On Down The Highway’ and ‘You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet’ were hit singles.

Paladin
Released in the Spring of 1971, 'Paladin' was the debut album from this creative band. Formed the previous year by Keith Webb and Pete Solley (both ex-members of Terry Reid's band), Paladin encompassed all that was experimental in early 70's rock. Fusing the worlds of jazz, rock and ethnic Cuban music, Paladin's debut album was both powerful and rhythmic, in places echoing excursions by bands such as TRAFFIC, MANFRED MANN's CHAPTER THREE and GINGER BAKER's AIRFORCE. One of the first signings to Bronze records, Paladin shared a home with URIAH HEEP, COLOSSEUM et al and were highly regarded. With this 24-bit remastered edition from ESOTERIC RECORDINGS, Paladin's debut release has never sounded better. Our Price: £10.95

Horizons
NEW EDITION OF THE CLASSIC DEBUT ALBUM BY THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH
NEWLY REMASTERED FROM THE ORIGINAL HARVEST RECORDS’ MASTER TAPES
THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH were one of the more stylistically original signings to EMI’s legendary Progressive label Harvest. The band was formed in 1968 and featured brothers Garth and Norman Watt-Roy (who played guitar and bass respectively), along with American vocalist Ozzie Lane, Mick Deacon on Organ, a horn section of Dick Hanson, Tex Philpotts and Ian Aitcheson and drummer Ron Prudence.
Initially beginning life as a Soul outfit, the band’s musical direction changed when vocalist Lane returned home to New Orleans in early 1969. Replaced by Colin Horton-Jennings (who also played guitar and flute), the band began to take on board more "progressive” influences, incorporating rock, jazz and acoustic music into their sound.
An impressive live act, Greatest Show on Earth released their debut album, "Horizons” in February 1970 adorned in a startling Hipgnosis designed sleeve. The album was an excellent work featuring the ambitious eleven minute title track and "Real Cool World” which was released as a single throughout Europe, gaining some chart success on the Continent.
This Esoteric Recordings reissue has been newly re-mastered from the original Harvest master tapes and features a booklet that fully restores all original album artwork with a new essay.

Bed: Expanded Edition
Five Thirty were a ‘new mod’ band who came out of North London in the early 90s bridging a gap between The Jam and The Stone Roses, and in many ways were Britpop before Britpop!  Although they came to prominence alongside the Thames Valley bands such as Ride and Chapterhouse, they picked their own path with a combination of Beatles-y harmonies, infectious basslines, psychedelic guitars and liberal use of the wah-wah pedal.  Led by the beguiling Tara Milton, they released a string of singles afforded Single Of The Week accolades and won legions of fans with their blistering live shows.

The band’s one and only album, Bed, has been unavailable for many years and is now re-issued on 2CDs in an expanded format including the EP tracks, b-sides, demos and BBC session material, including 9 previously unreleased tracks.
·       33 tracks across 2CDs
·       9 previously unreleased tracks
·       Includes all the b-sides and Air Conditioned Nightmare EP
·       Sumptuous packaging includes a 16 page booklet featuring sleevenotes from the band

"We are dealing with an indecent level of talent, an outrageous excess of potential energy” Simon Price, Melody Maker 1991

"A good rock record with a dash of perversity and more than a touch of vision”Steve Lamacq, NME 1991

New Wave - Expanded 2 CD edition
"With their 1993 debut album, New Wave, The Auteurs established themselves as one of England's best guitar bands of the early '90s” Allmusic.com

Fronted by Luke Haines, The Auteurs arrived on the cusp of shifting musical scenes. Madchester was dead, Britpop was about to be born. · Originally released in February 1993 on Hut Records, New Wave was the debut album by The Auteurs. Produced by Phil Vinall and Haines, the album featured the singles Showgirl and How I Could Be Wrong. The album was well received on release, perceived as being part of a nascent Brit-Pop scene, and was nominated in the second Mercury Music Prize in 1993 (won by Suede) and was in Q magazine’s Top 10 Albums of 1993.

This re-issue, featuring 34 tracks across 2CDs compiled by Haines, includes key b-sides, acoustic tracks, the band’s BBC Radio 1 session from 1993 and 6 previously unreleased 4 track demos straight from Haines’s archive.

The 2CD set comes in lavish packaging and includes brand new sleevenotes by Luke Haines.
