When it came to tough, snarling, mod-into-freakbeat sounds, legendary mid-Sixties act the Sorrows had few peers. Formed in Coventry, the band was signed by producer/A&R man John Schroeder to the Piccadilly label in late 1964. In the space of little more than a year, they cut a superb album as well as a clutch of menacing, thrillingly essential 45s, including the iconic Take A Heart (the band s only chart success) and its equally incendiary follow-up, You've Got What I Want .

 Esoteric Recordings are pleased to release a two CD anthology by legendary Ladbroke Grove underground act Skin Alley. Formed in 1969, Skin Alley were part of the infamous CLearwater stable that included fellow acts such as Hawkwind, High TIde and Trees. Skin alley’s infectious fusion of jazz and rock was suited to the time and the band became a regular attraction on the underground festival and concert circuit. Signing to cbs records in the autumn of 1969, the band recorded their debut album with producer dick taylor (former guitarist with the pretty things).Famous for its Policeman cover, the album featured excellent tracks such as Living In Sin, Tell Me, Country Aire & Night Time. Prior to the release of their second album skin alley recorded a soundtrack album for the film Stop Veruschka!About the infamous German model. A wonderful set of music & songs, the album was shelved in favour of a new set of recordings that was released as the album to Pagham & Beyond. This anthology includes all tracks from that second album, plus the entire unreleased Stop Veruschka! Soundtrack. This 2CD release is essentially a "Best Of Stiff Little Fingers Live" as it includes versions of UK chart hits 'Tin Soldiers', 'At The Edge', Nobodys Hero' and 'Gotta Getaway' alongside legendary classics such as 'Suspect Device', 'Alternative Ulster' and 'Wasted Life'. Disc One is from the band's comeback tour of 1987 and features their most successful line-up and Disc Two is from a sell-out show in London in 1991 by which time Jam bassist Bruce Foxton had become a fulltime member. Totally re-mastered by Tim Turan and with a booklet containing detailed liner-notes by Alex Ogg, author of the punk bible - No More Heroes. The Time Is Near
Considered by many to be one of the finest exponents of powerful Jazz Rock, Keef's earliest engagement was as replacement for Ringo Starr in Rory Storm and the Hurricanes. He was also Mick Fleetwood'sreplacement in John Mayalls Blues-Breakers and featured on many recordings by the band. In 1968 he formed his own group recruiting the highly regarded Miller Anderson on guitar and vocals. Although they performed at Woodstock the band was not filmed.
