Psychotropia - Nick Nicely

Psychotropia
Described by the NME at the time of its 1982 release as "the best psychedelic record made since the '60s”, ‘Hilly Fields (1892)' is widely accepted as a cult masterpiece, influencing the likes of Robyn Hitchcock and Bevis Frond as well as inspiring Andy Partridge to come up with XTC's retro-psych alter egos, the Dukes of Stratosphear.

A cross between Picnic At Hanging Rock and Time Out Of Joint-era Philip K Dick relocated to an alternate dimensional Summer of Love, Psychotropia gathers all four sides released under Nick Nicely's name and adds a raft of similarly otherworldly demos and outtakes, including the hitherto unreleased mid-Eighties recording ‘Marlon'.

With revised artwork, extended sleevenotes, fresh quotes from the artist and some previously unseen photos, this is the very last word in the life and times of that out-of-time psychedelic adventurer Nick Nicely. One for pimply little postboys everywhere!
