Shine
22 years after its intended release we are releasing Five Star's final album 'Shine' for its long awaited official UK release as a special edition.
This single CD collection features the ten original album tracks plus six bonus track versions of the title single 'Shine'.
The bonus remixes of ‘Shine' include the New Jack Mix Edit / Glamour Rap Mix / Slick Hop Extended Mix / New Jack Mix featuring Def Jef / The Glamour Mix & Slick Hop Boom Mix.
Many of the tracks are appearing on CD for the very first time.
Whilst copies were heavily imported around the time of the 'Shine' single release, the album failed to secure a proper UK release. This Cherry Pop release is its first full UK release.
The CD booklet contains comprehensive sleeve notes, including interviews with several contributing songwriters Michael Jay, Marva King and Zac Harmon and, a brand new exclusive interview with Five Star’s Doris Pearson.
Five Star were the youngest act to top the album chart with the million-seller Silk & Steel.
Five Star were awarded Top British Group in Smash Hits magazine and at the 1987 Brit Awards.
The band are newly reformed and are celebrating their 30th anniversary.
The Five Star story began in 1983 when the children of reggae musician Buster Pearson decided to form their own pop group. Under their father's watchful managerial eye, they signed to his own label Tent Records. Their debut album "Luxury Of Life" was released in August 1985 and peaked at #12 in the album charts. Their second album, the #1 hit "Silk & Steel" followed in August 1986 and became triple platinum. In the 1980s the band recorded 21 hit singles, 11 of them top 20, and 4 original albums followed by a Greatest Hits album in 1989. The band, likened predictably to the Jackson 5 were one of the leading UK pop acts of the decade. This album was the band's sixth album. It was recorded at various studios including Michael Jackson's own MMJ Studios in California.

The collection also includes the 1987 full vocal b-side How Dare You (Stay Out Of My Life), which was used as the theme tune to ITV’s How Dare You, and is previously unreleased on CD.

Rock the world
This 17 track collection features the ten tracks of the original album plus seven essential bonus tracks.
The album peaked at number 17, certified silver, and contains four UK top 75 singles.
The 12” remixes of the single ‘Another Weekend’ and ‘Rock The World’ appear here for the first time on CD. Also included are two 12” remixes of the UK singles ‘There’s A Brand New World’ and ‘Let Me Be Yours’.
This Special Edition features the David Morales 7” remix of the US single ‘Someone’s In Love’, available for the first time in the UK. After 23 years of waiting we can finally announce the long awaited official UK release of this self-titled 1990 album by Five Star, one of the leading UK pop bands of the 80's.
This 2 CD collection features the ten original album tracks plus four essential bonus tracks on disc one. Disc two features ten versions of the single ‘Treat Me Like A Lady’ and three versions of the ‘Hot Love’ single.
Also included are four Shep Pettibone's 12” remixes of ‘Treat Me Like A Lady' previously unavailable on CD in the UK.
