The Christians
2012 sees the 25th anniversary of the original release of The Christians self-titled debut album – and Cherry Red Records are marking the occasion by releasing a deluxe version of the album, packed with extra material. The original album was a massive success for the Liverpool based band on its release in 1987 – going to number two in the UK album chart and spawning five top forty hit singles.

This deluxe version features a raft of extra tracks from around the period of the original album release, including the band’s biggest hit single, a cover of the Isley Brothers "Harvest For The World”, which made number eight in the UK singles chart. Also included are B-sides from the album’s single releases along with some unique remixes of the hits themselves. Sleeve notes from Garry Christian and some rare images from the time make up an enticing two-disc package.

Press:-

"Great tunes whose socially and politically aware lyrics reflected, with wit and subtlety, on life under Thatcher, they are all here, scattered over these beautifully package reissues while two versions of their biggest hit, a cover of The Isley’s ‘Harvest For The World’, are tucked away on The Christians – a superb eighteen-track bonus disc.”
