Live Music from the Twilight Zone eclec2185Released 22/02/10. Esoteric are pleased to continue their series of CD reissues of the catalogue of Finnish Progressive group Wigwam with their classic 1975 double live album Live Music From The Twilight Zone. Formed in Helsinki in 1969, the band featured the talents of British Keyboard player and vocalist Jim Pembroke, Jukka Gustavson (keyboards, vocals), Pekka Pohjola (bass, violin, keyboards) and Ronnie Osterberg (drums). In late 1974, following the release of the album Being (also released by Esoteric this month), the band were augmented by the arrival of guitarist Pekka Rechardt. Soon after a series of concerts in Finland were recorded by Love Records to comprise Wigwam's first live album. The recordings demonstrated the diversity of the band and the excellent musicianship of its members. A particular stand out track was a fifteen minute version of Jim Pembroke's Grass for Blades, previously recorded under the pseudonym Hot Thumbs O'Reilly. Soon after these recordings both Gustavson and Pohjola departed, leaving this album as their final statement with Wigwam. The album saw WIGWAM build on their international fan base through compositions such as Colossus , Never Turn You In , Sane Again and Eddie And The Boys . This Esoteric reissue, in full co-operation with Love Records in Finland, marks the album's debut release in the UK and is long overdue and includes both sides of WIGWAM's 1975 single Tramdriver b/w Wardance as bonus tracks.

Esoteric are pleased to begin a series of CD reissues of the catalogue of Finnish Progressive group WIGWAM with their classic 1975 album Nuclear Nightclub, the band's seventh album and their first UK release on Virgin. Formed in Helsinki in 1969, the band featured the talents of British Keyboard player and vocalist Jim Pembroke. By the time this album was recorded the band had been through line-up changes that saw original members Jim Pembroke and drummer Ronnie Osterberg joined by Pekka Richardt (Guitar) and Mans Groundstroem (Bass). Nuclear Nightclub introduced WIGWAM to a wider European audience and through compositions such as the album s title track, Freddie Are You Ready , Bless Your Lucky Stars , Simple Human Kindness and Pigstorm the album gained many staunch supporters, including Julian Cope. This Esoteric reissue, in full co-operation with Love Records in Finland, marks the album's debut release in the UK and is long overdue.
