ESOTERIC RECORDINGS imprint Cocteau Discs, the home of BILL NELSON’s catalogue between 1971 and 2001, continues their series of on-going releases with the newly remastered and expanded release of his 1986 album "GETTING THE HOLY GHOST ACROSS”. Released in 1986, the record was Bill’s sole album for the Portrait label, and was a superbly realised work. Previously released on CD as strictly limited edition of 500 copies on Bill’s Sonolux label, the album is hugely sought after on CD by collectors.

This Cocteau Discs edition is expanded over two CDs to include all the material from the "LIVING FOR THE SPANGLED MOMENT” and the "WILDEST DREAMS” 12-INCH EPs, (featuring three tracks previously unreleased on CD). The reissue fully restores the original album artwork and features a new note by Bill Nelson.

The House Of Love 3CD Deluxe Edition
THE HOUSE OF LOVE were one of the most successful and critically acclaimed bands to grace Creation Records back in the late 1980s.
Their eponymous debut album was cited as one of the best albums of 1988 by music magazines and Indie fans alike. It has been out-of-print on CD for some time now.
This deluxe edition of THE HOUSE OF LOVE offers the band’s complete Creation recordings from 1987-1988, together with a raft of previously unissued bonus material.
The package boasts all their Creation Records singles, from the original version of ‘Shine On’, ‘Real Animal’ and the US favourite ‘Christine’ (which reached #8 in the Modern Rock chart there) to their final single for the label, ‘Destroy The Heart’.
Disc 3 is devoted to nineteen hitherto unheard HOUSE OF LOVE demos, including two exclusive Guy Chadwick songs ‘Hold On Me’ and ‘Modern World’, which were never released!
Also making their debut on CD is the rare 7” album freebie (two demos) and the ‘Flexidisc’ version of ‘Shine On’, together with Guy’s original demo of this song which eventually gave them a sizeable hit.

This 3-CD package is housed in a stylish Digipak with fresh sleeve-notes and rare images from the band’s photographer Suzie Gibbons.

Love Your Enemies
Microdisney began recordingin their native town of Cork,Ireland. Their first few singles, including 1983's "Pink Skinned Man", wereproducedby Dave Feeley, and released onindielabelKabuki records After relocating to London, they signed to Rough Trade, and utilised John Porter(producer ofThe Smiths) to produce their debut album, Everybody is Fantastic. At this time, the band became acquainted withJohn Peel, who championed their music, and gave them the first of several celebrated Peel Sessions Originally released in 1984 with the titleWe Hate You South African Bastards,Love Your Enemies is a fascinating collection of Microdisney's early work. At this stage, the balance between the impeccable west coast pop pastiches of Sean O'Hagan and the lyrical ferocity of Cathal Coughlan was erratic but workable enough to signify that Microdisney were going to be something special, Love Your Enemieshas all the hallmarks of pop juvenilia: tinny production, occasional over-elaboration and, in Coughlan's case, a rich Cork accent still unsullied by the duo's relocation. Even now, however, Coughlan--who deserves to be measured among the very finest pop lyricists--was displaying a rare facility for language and an unerring instinct for absurdity. "Helicopter of the Holy Ghost" and "Michael Murphy" both deploy their words with a gleeful violence, and there can be little doubt whose idea it was to title O'Hagan's polite instrumentals "Patrick Moore Says You Can't Sleep Here" and "Pretoria Quickstep".Love Your Enemiesalso contains Microdisney's first truly realised moment: "Loftholdingswood", something like a Steely Dan radio hit with words by Jonathan Swift. Coughlan's taunt of "Aren't you glad you were born in England?" remains a benchmark for sarcasm in music This re-issue - made in conjunction with the band - contains rare single B-sides and the complete Peel session recorded at the time. With notes in collaboration with the band by Terry Staunton and a book packed with memorabilia this release serves as a great re-introduction to this finest of Irish bands.

The Clock Comes Down The Stairs
Microdisney began recording in their native town of Cork, Ireland. Their first few singles, including 1983's "Pink Skinned Man", were producedby Dave Feeley, and released on indie label Kabuki records After relocating toLondon, they signed toRough Trade, and utilised John Porter(producer ofThe Smiths) to produce their debut album,Everybody is Fantastic. At this time, the band became acquainted withJohn Peel, who championed their music, and gave them the first of several celebrated Peel Sessions Originally released in 1985,The Clock Comes down the Stairs was the first of three albums--the other two are the ensuing releases Crooked Mileand39 Minutes--on which this superb band finally got it right. It was never an easy equation for Microdisney to balance--the musical prettiness of Sean O'Hagan and the lyrical savagery of Cathal Coughlan--but it all adds up here rather wondrously. The Clock Comes down the Stairs seems to be Coughlan meticulously chronicling his own decline. As is invariably the case with Coughlan, however, the decline of everyone and everything else also gets a mention. In the mid-1980s, bands were either in the charts, which meant they sounded like Wham!, or they were alternative, in which case they sounded like The Jesus & Mary Chain. Nobody really knew what to do with a collection of recalcitrant Irishmen whose music evoked Jimmy Webb, Steely Dan and The Walker Brothers, and whose words were consumed with paranoia and disgust. On "Goodbye It's 1987"--a startlingly unconcerned-sounding prediction of Armageddon--Cathal introduces one of O'Hagan's impeccable guitar solos with the muttered exhortation "Let's tax the wages of sin". In the summer of Live Aid, it was never likely to be a big radio favourite. This re-issue – made in conjunction with the band - contains rare single B-sides and the complete Peel session recorded at the time. With notes in collaboration with the band by Terry Staunton and a book packed with memorabilia this release serves as a great re-introduction to this finest of Irish bands
