Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the first ever release of "HARRODIAN EVENT #1”. Recorded in January 1972, this rare recording features a unique event where seven gifted Progressive musicians came together to record a session of unique experimental music. Keyboard player J. Peter Robinson (a member of QUATERMASS, later in BRAND X), John Gustafson (Bass) had also been in Quatermass and would go on to play with STEVE HACKETT, IAN GILLAN and ROXY MUSIC), Martyn Ford had been an arranger for BARCLAY JAMES HARVEST before working with the major names in rock, Paul Buckmaster had worked with DAVID BOWIE, THIRD EAR BAND and many more, whilst Trevor Morais would find fame in QUANTUM JUMP and working with the PENGUIN CAFÉ ORCHESTRA.
The music of the Harrodian Event touches on the styles later developed by artists such as Henry Cow or even Frank Zappa. It is experimental, unique and rewarding.
This Esoteric Recordings release has been remastered by J. Peter Robinson, who also wrote the essay in the accompanying illustrated booklet.

Paul Brett Sage
30/03/09. Respected guitarist and singer-songwriter Paul Brett began his career in the 1960 s by performing on records by Arthur Brown and Tintern Abbey among others. After guesting on the acclaimed Magic Shoemaker album by Fire in 1970 he signed to Pye Records as a solo artist recording the classic Paul Brett Sage the same year. Released on 29/03/10. Is a Friend? by THE PARLOUR BAND. Issued by Decca's Deram imprint in 1972, this highly sought after release has never been issued on CD in the UK until now. Featuring Craig Anders (guitar, vocals), Mark Anders (bass, vocals), Peter Filleul (keyboards, guitar, vocals), Pix (lead vocals) and Jerry Robins (drums), The Parlour band was a melodic Progressive outfit who excelled vocally and toured extensively as support act to bands such as Caravan and Khan, but failed to make a commercial impression, despite the excellence of their work, leaving behind their sole album for Deram as their recorded legacy. Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce a newly remastered and expanded edition of the classic album by Progressive Rock trio SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION.
Hailing from Poole in Dorset, the band featured GARY MARGETTS on guitar and vocals, TRISTAN MARGETTS on bass guitar, vocals and synthesiser and TONY BROCK on drums.
Formed in 1971, the band was originally known as Transient Sand and was managed by local promoter John House, a friend of GREG LAKE of EMERSON, LAKE & PALMER. Through this association Lake offered to produce the band, now known as Spontaneous Combustion. With Lake’s interest confirmed a recording contract was arranged with Harvest in the closing months of 1971.
"TRIAD” was the band’s second album, released in October 1972 and over the coming years has become a sought after Prog Rock classic.
This Esoteric Recordings reissue includes three bonus tracks from the band’s singles of the period, two of which are previously unreleased on CD. It has been newly re-mastered from the original master tapes and features a booklet that fully restores all original album artwork with a new essay.

Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce a newly remastered edition of the debut album by THE KEITH TIPPETT GROUP. Famed Jazz pianist Keith Tippett is one of the greatest and innovative figures in modern jazz. His work has also seen him cross into the world of Progressive rock, working with King Crimson and his own outfit Centipede.
The Keith Tippett Group’s debut album was recorded in 1969 and featured a line-up of Keith Tippett on Piano, Elton Dean on Alto Saxophone, Marc Charig on Cornet (also in Soft Machine), Jeff Clyne on bass (later in Nucleus), Nick Evans on Trombone and Alan Jackson on drums. "You Are Here… I Am There” is rightly hailed as a classic of the genre.
A superb and highly sought after modern jazz – rock work, "You Are Here… I Am There” has been newly remastered and the booklet fully restores the original album artwork and includes a new essay.
