Ginhouse
NEWLY REMASTERED OFFICIAL EDITION OF THE COLLECTABLE 1971 ALBUM BY PROGRESSIVE TRIO GINHOUSE
BOOKLET WITH FULLY RESTORED ARTWORK & ESSAY
Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the release of a newly remastered edition of the highly collectable 1971 self-titled album by GINHOUSE.
Hailing from Newcastle Upon Tyne, GINHOUSE were a short lived Progressive Rock trio featuring GEOFF SHARKEY (Lead Guitar & Vocals), STEWART BURLINSON (Bass Guitar & Vocals) and DAVE WHITTAKER (Drums).
This power trio played a highly imaginative and powerful form of rock, coming to the attention of B&C Records in 1970. The band recorded their only album at Abbey Road studios with producer Anders Henriksson (also producer of the legendary Quatermass).
The resulting record featured excellent original compositions such as ‘Tyne God’, ‘The Journey’, ‘The House’ and ‘Sun in a Bottle’, along with a highly effective reworking of The Beatles’ ‘And I Love Her’. Disbanding soon after the release of their only album, the music of GINHOUSE is now highly sought after by collectors of early 70s Progressive Rock.
This Esoteric Recordings release has been newly remastered from the original masters and includes an illustrated booklet and a new essay.

Cave Of Clear Light: The Pye and Dawn Records Underground 1967-1975
Released on 25/01/10. Cave Of Clear Light is a 3CD Anthology that tells the story of the Underground years of the Pye record label and its Progressive imprint Dawn Records. Often unfairly seen as a poor relation to the Progressive and Underground releases by major labels such as Decca, Harvest, Vertigo, Island and United Artists, Pye Records also released many albums and singles by artists who were at the forefront of the Underground rock explosion of the late 1960 s and early 1970 s. Cave Of Clear Light re-appraises the labels output and features tracks by artists such as Donovan, Status Quo, Man, Atomic Rooster and Fruupp, also including many rare tracks by highly collectable artists such as Jonesy, David Mcwilliams, Stray, Paul Brett's Sage, Fire, Titus Groan, Demon Fuzz, Noir, Comus, Gravy Train, Writing On The Wall and many more. With an extensive book featuring information on all the artists featured and the story of Pye's Progressive period and the birth of Dawn Records, this anthology joins the series of acclaimed compilations by Mark Powell such as Strangely St range, But Oddly Normal - Island anthology; Time Machine. - Vertigo anthology; Legend of a Mind - Decca / Deram anthology; A Breath of Fresh Air - Harvest anthology and Refugees - Charisma anthology to tell the story of a major label in transition during a momentous period of change for British popular music. Live ‘n’ Kickin’
Released 25/08/08. Esoteric Recordings are proud to release this classic rock album from 1974, the only live album by the amazing power trio, West Bruce & Laing. Forming in 1972 the band brought together Cream bassist, vocalist and writer Jack Bruce with Leslie West and Corky Laing from the American band Mountain.

Together WBL recorded three albums, all of which demonstrated the group's power and dexterity. Following the release of their debut, 'Why Doncha?' for CBS records in Europe, the band moved to RSO Records. This powerful live album captures WBL at their peak and includes stunning versions of 'Play With Fire', Cream's 'Politician' and 'Powerhouse Sod'. Alas, the band only lasted some eighteen months before breaking apart. This Esoteric release, remastered from the original tapes, follows on the heels of the label's critically acclaimed 6 CD set Jack Bruce retrospective 'Can You Follow?' and is indeed a welcome one.
