Ginhouse
NEWLY REMASTERED OFFICIAL EDITION OF THE COLLECTABLE 1971 ALBUM BY PROGRESSIVE TRIO GINHOUSE
BOOKLET WITH FULLY RESTORED ARTWORK & ESSAY
Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the release of a newly remastered edition of the highly collectable 1971 self-titled album by GINHOUSE.
Hailing from Newcastle Upon Tyne, GINHOUSE were a short lived Progressive Rock trio featuring GEOFF SHARKEY (Lead Guitar & Vocals), STEWART BURLINSON (Bass Guitar & Vocals) and DAVE WHITTAKER (Drums).
This power trio played a highly imaginative and powerful form of rock, coming to the attention of B&C Records in 1970. The band recorded their only album at Abbey Road studios with producer Anders Henriksson (also producer of the legendary Quatermass).
The resulting record featured excellent original compositions such as ‘Tyne God’, ‘The Journey’, ‘The House’ and ‘Sun in a Bottle’, along with a highly effective reworking of The Beatles’ ‘And I Love Her’. Disbanding soon after the release of their only album, the music of GINHOUSE is now highly sought after by collectors of early 70s Progressive Rock.
This Esoteric Recordings release has been newly remastered from the original masters and includes an illustrated booklet and a new essay.

The Alchemist
Released on 29/03/10. Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the release of the classic 1973 Progressive rock album The Alchemist by Home. The band featured a line up of Mick Stubbs (guitar, piano, lead vocals), Laurie Wisefield (lead guitar, vocals), Cliff Williams (bass, vocals) and Mick Cook (drums) and had recorded two previous albums in a more conventional style before recording an album cited by many as a lost classic of the Progressive genre. Although critically acclaimed, the album failed to sell in quantities it deserved and Home disbanded the following year. With the addition of guest Jimmy Anderson on Mellotron and Synthesiser, the conceptual work also brought the guitar playing of Laurie Wisefield to the fore, eventually leading to his joining WISHBONEASH soon after the demise of Home Our Price: £10.95

Released 25/05/09. Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the release of this 2CD anthology by the legendary Spooky Tooth, spanning their entire recorded output for Island Records from their first single to 1974's 'The Mirror'(released in the USA on the label). Including non-album singles, a previously unreleased mix of 'Lost in My Dream' and two previously unreleased songs from 1968, this anthology is the most comprehensive collection of Spooky Tooth's finest work yet and is a fine tribute to a fine, and sometimes overlooked, band. BOOKLET WITH FULLY RESTORED ARTWORK & ESSAY
Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the release of a newly remastered anthology featuring the best of the recorded output by the legendary Danish band BURNIN RED IVANHOE, drawn from the recordings made for Sonet Records between 1969 and 1974.
Burnin Red Ivanhoe are legends of the Danish Progressive Rock scene of the late 60s / early 70s. Formed in Copenhagen in 1967, the band initially featured the talents of KARSTEN VOGEL (Saxophones), STEEN CLAESSON (Guitar, Vocals), STEEN LANGE (Bass) and BO THRIGE ANDERSEN (Drums). Signing to Sonet Records in Denmark in December 1969, the band issued their first album "M 144” in 1969. Over the next few years the band’s line-up varied, but the string of albums such as "Burnin Red Ivanhoe”, "WWW”, "Miley Smile / Stage Recall” and "Right On” released between 1969 and 1974 gained many admirers throughout the world, including John Peel (who signed the band to his Dandelion label). Burnin Red Ivanhoe’s unique fusion of Jazz, Rock and the Avant Garde was as imaginative as anything emerging from the embryonic German rock scene of the time and remains impressive forty years later.
