They both rehearsed and gigged with their peers such as the Ramones and Blondie. They were snapped up by Police manager Miles Copeland's IRS Records and went on to record four albums for the label all the time building a significant live following.
For over thirty years the band have recorded and toured playing around the world to their everloyal fanbase and are still going as strong as ever. Live At The Hurrah Club features a full-length performance from the band at New York's legendary venue from the early 1980 s bonus material comes from a performance at the NY Rocker Party event.
The original line-up leaned heavily on the musical and vocal talent of Steve Winwood (then only a teenager), who left the group, along with his brother Muff, in 1967 and went on to enjoy further success as a member of Traffic and as a solo artist.
'Gimme Some Lovin' – Live 1966' features extremely rare archive footage of the original line-up playing live – and includes many of their major hit songs including 'Keep On Runnin'', 'Gimme Some Lovin'' and 'I'm A Man'. Also included is an entertaining and enlightening interview with the band members. The DVD also features a full-length documentary on the group from 1967 – as the Winwood's left the group acquired two new members, began recording new material and were keeping up European tour dates. Featuring the group in the recording studio, on various concert stages, at press calls, in the PR office, this is a unique opportunity for the collector to glimpse the day to day life of a top group in the '60s.
