Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce a newly remastered edition of the classic 1976 album by American Progressive Rock group Pavlov’s Dog.
Formed in St. Louis in 1972, Pavlov’s Dog released their debut album in 1975. "At the Sound of the Bell” was recorded in New York and London the following year and featured DAVID SURKAMP (Vocals, Guitar), DAVID HAMILTON (Keyboards), DOUG RAYBURN (Mellotron, Flute), RICHARD STOCKTON (Bass), STEPHEN SCORFINA (Lead Guitar) and THOMA NICKESON (Acoustic Guitar, Harmonies). The sessions saw contributions from former Yes and King Crimson member BILL BRUFORD (drums) and Roxy Music’s ANDY MACKAY (Saxophone) among others.
A classic of the Progressive Rock genre, "At the Sound of the Bell” has been newly remastered and the booklet fully restores the original album artwork and includes a new essay.

Round The Back

Round the Back by Cafe Jacques. Formed in 1973 by guitarist Chris Thomson and keyboard player Peter Veitch, they signed to CBS Records in 1976

With drummer Mike Ogletree they recorded this debut album the following year with producer Rupert Hine. The sessions featured guest appearances by Phil Collins and Caravan alumni Geoffrey Richardson and John G. Perry.

Fusing influences as diverse as Caravan, Steely Dan and Genesis, the band's debut album was an impressive work. Never issued on CD in the UK before now, this release coincides with the first Cafe Jacques concerts in many years at the end of August.

Banco

Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso, better known in English speaking countries as Banco, were one of the finest Italian Progressive rock band s of the 1970 s and along with compatriot s P.F.M. were one of the better known Italian groups.

A successful act in their homeland, they came to international attention when they signed to Emerson, Lake and Palmer’s label Manticore in 1975. Their first album for the label, Banco was a fine work and featured reworked material with English vocals that had originally featured on their earlier Italian albums.

This new edition of the album has been newly re-mastered and marks the albums British debut on CD and continues the comprehensive series of releases of the classic Manticore catalogue.

Kingdom Come
Kingdom Come, the second album by Arthur Brown's Psych / Space Rock outfit Kingdom Come. Issued on Polydor in 1972, the album enhanced the notoriety of the band. Touching on the musical territory of fellow travellers HAWKWIND, Kingdom Come was a masterwork and is now rightly regarded as a classic. This newly re-mastered edition includes bonus tracks of three alternate mixes, together with two recordings from BBC Radio One John Peel sessions from 1971 (previously unreleased on CD). Paradise Ballroom
Released 27/07/2009. Founder member and drummer of The Moody Blues, Graeme Edge recorded his second classic album in 1976 whilst the Moody Blues were on a sabbatical. Teaming up with Adrian and Paul Gurvitz, Edge followed on from his debut solo album Kick Off Your Muddy Boots (also released by Esoteric Recordings this month) with another fine effort, leading some to cite his two solo albums as the finest solo album by any Moody Blues member of the 1970's. Hatfield and The North – Expanded Edition
Released 27/07/2009. New remastered & expanded cd release for the Classic debut album by canterbury scene's Finest with bonus tracks; one of which is Completely new to cd! Booklet with photos & liner notes. Recorded for Virgin Records in 1974, Hatfield and the North was the eponymous debut album by the band comprising former Caravan member Richard Sinclair, keyboard player Dave Stewart, guitarist Phil Miller and drummer Pip Pyle. Regarded as one of the finest albums in the Canterbury genre, the album also featured guest appearances by Geoff Leigh of Henry Cow and Robert Wyatt who sang guest vocals on the track Calyx. This Esoteric Recordings reissue adds both sides of the band's 1974 and Your Majesty is Like a Cream Donut / Oh What a Lonely Lifetime featured on the Virgin sampler album V and previously unreleased on CD as bonus tracks, together with a booklet featuring restored artwork and notes by Sid Smith.
