Genesis (2CD)
NEW REMASTERED 2 DISC EXPANDED & REMASTERED EDITION OF THE CLASSIC DEBUT ALBUM BY THE GODS – FEATURING KEN HENSLEY & LEE KERSLAKE
FEATURING BOTH MONO & STEREO MIXES OF THE ALBUM ALONG WITH FOUR EXTRA BONUS TRACKS – THE FIRST EVER RELEASE OF THE ALBUM MONO MIX ON CD
REMASTERED FROM THE ORIGINAL EMI MASTER TAPES
Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce a newly remastered edition of the debut album by THE GODS. Formed in Hatfield in 1965 by future Rolling Stones guitarist MICK TAYLOR, the band also featured KEN HENSLEY (keyboards, guitar, vocals), JOHN GLASCOCK (bass, vocals), JOE KONAS (guitar, vocals) and LEE KERSLAKE (drums). Originally a blues based band, in 1967 Mick Taylor departed to join JOHN MAYALL’S BLUESBREAKERS and during this period GREG LAKE joined the band briefly, replacing John Glascock on bass. By 1968 the band had signed to EMI’s Columbia label and had settled into a line-up that saw John Glascock return to the band. By this time The Gods had embraced both Psychedelia and Progressive styles. "Genesis” was a fine album and is now rightly hailed as a classic of the late Psychedelic and early Progressive era.
This Esoteric Recordings expanded reissue includes the original stereo and mono mixes of the album (the first time the mono mix has appeared on CD), along with four bonus tracks comprising the A & B sides of the band’s singles of the time. These includes The Gods’ cover version of The Beatles’ ‘Hey Bulldog’ and their original classic ‘Real Love Guaranteed’. The reissue has been newly re-mastered from the original EMI master tapes and includes a booklet that fully restores the original album artwork and a new essay.

Armageddon
Newly Remastered Cd Release for this classic album featuring Keith Relf, Martin Pugh, Louis Cennamo & Bobby Caldwell from 1975. Booklet with photos & liner notes. Armageddon was one of THE great unsung bands of the mid- 1970 s. Formed in 1974 out of the ashes of the UK band Steamhammer, the group featured the vocal talents of former YARDBIRDS front man KEITH RELF, alongside guitarist MARTIN PUGH, bassist LOUIS CENNAMO and drummer BOBBY CALDWELL. Originally released by A&M Records in 1975, Armageddon'ssole album featured some amazing music ranging from the LED ZEPPELIN-esque Paths and Planes and Future Gains to the Progressive rock of Silver Tightrope and Basking in the White of the Midnight Sun . The much overused term Lost Classic is, in the case of this record, most apt. This Esoteric Recordings reissue has been re-mastered from the original tapes and restores the original album artwork and will appeal to lovers of Progressive and Classic Rock

Beautiful Sun
Released 23/03/09. The Peppermint Trolley Company sang the themes of both Love, American Style and the first season of The Brady Bunch. They once performed in front of an audience of 120,000. In addition, the band from Redlands, California recorded one of the most essential but sadly overlooked L.A. soft psych studio offerings ever. Reissued here for the first time ever is their glorious self-titled 1968 album, reminiscent of The Left Banke, The Association, and Buffalo Springfield. Beautiful Sun features numerous arrangements by Chad, Stuart Of Chad & Jeremy, and a cameo performance by Roger Nichols on Trust, a song he co-wrote with Paul Williams. Also included is the Billboard Top 60 hit Baby You Come Rollin Cross My Mind. 16 bonus tracks round out this collection, including non-LP cuts, mono single mixes, and rare sides recorded under their earlier monikers, The Mark Five, The C Minors, And The Intercoms. The full-colour, 16-page booklet also includes previously unpublished photos, and exhaustive liner notes that feature the participation of original band members. Our Price: £9.95

Kaleidoscopin : Exploring Prisms Of The Past
Emerging in the early 90s with a series of now legendary, self-made cassettes, Wondermints quickly developed a reputation for being one of the pre-eminent bands operating in Los Angeles. Over the next decade, four albums followed, garnering massive acclaim, especially in Japan. In addition to all this, the band recorded many stray tracks, placed on now long-out-of print compilations, soundtracks including the main title to Austin Powers and singles. Just one listen to Kaleidoscopin and it immediately becomes apparent why, in 1996, Brian Wilson said, "If I'd had Wondermints in 1967, I'd have taken Smile out on the road."

Twinn Connexion
Jay and Jerry Hopkins, The Twinn Connexion, were like no musical act anyone had ever seen before. The striking, identical blonde twins graced their 1968 Decca debut, Twinn Connexion in matching shag haircuts, floral-patterned brocade mod suits, and sharp white ankle boots. Even their ascots matched. The music on Twinn Connexion was as unique as their look: soft-pop vocals steeped in sunshine and psychedelia-lite arrangements, complete with electric sitar and harpsichord, delivered by seasoned New York session men. After being forgotten for years, Twinn Connexion, their lone album, has become a beloved soft-pop obscurity, fetching high prices on the collectors' market. The album will get its first legitimate CD release the Now Sounds way: with 8 bonus tracks, a deluxe 24-page booklet, loaded with rare photos and exclusive commentary from surviving Twinn, Jerry Hopkins! Produced by Jerry Keller, cowriter of The Cyrkle hit ‘Turn Down Day,' Twinn Connexion was described by soft-pop expert Dawn Eden as "at once brilliant, enticing, and maddening" Still, most of the songs that landed on their debut, Twinn Connexion, are more like the soundtrack for a psychedelic walk in the park (or a "Sixth Avenue Stroll"!) on a spring afternoon. Enjoy the sunshine. Our Price: £9.95
