BOOKLET WITH FULLY RESTORED ARTWORK & NEW ESSAY

Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce a newly remastered and expanded edition of the classic album by Progressive Rock trio SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION.
Hailing from Poole in Dorset, the band featured GARY MARGETTS on guitar and vocals, TRISTAN MARGETTS on bass guitar, vocals and synthesiser and TONY BROCK on drums.
Formed in 1971, the band was originally known as Transient Sand and was managed by local promoter John House, a friend of GREG LAKE of EMERSON, LAKE & PALMER. Through this association Lake offered to produce the band, now known as Spontaneous Combustion. With Lake’s interest confirmed a recording contract was arranged with Harvest in the closing months of 1971.
"TRIAD” was the band’s second album, released in October 1972 and over the coming years has become a sought after Prog Rock classic.
This Esoteric Recordings reissue includes three bonus tracks from the band’s singles of the period, two of which are previously unreleased on CD. It has been newly re-mastered from the original master tapes and features a booklet that fully restores all original album artwork with a new essay.

Pre-Flight
Recorded at the Decca studios in the summer of 1970, Room's Pre Flight was an ambitious blend of rock, blues, jazz and classical influences. The album was critically well received but unfortunately like many strong releases of this genre at the time on the classic Deram label, did not achieve the hoped for breakthrough to greater commercial success. Room's only recorded work, the album has been re-mastered from the original analogue tapes and is now presented in this definitive edition from Esoteric Recordings. Our Price: £10.95

Escalator
Released on 24/05/10. Esoteric Recordings are pleased to be release the classic 1968 Psychedelic Rock album, Escalator, by Sam Gopal. One of a handful of albums released on the short lived Stable imprint, Escalator is a gem of an album that is notable for the presence of Ian Willis, otherwise known as Lemmy. However, Escalator is asmemorable for the talents of Malaysian born percussionist Gopal and his band also including Roger D Elia (Guitar) and Phil Duke (bass). With such fine material as The Dark Lord, The Sky is Burning and Midsummer Night's Dream, Escalator is an essential album of British underground rock from the late 1960's. This Esoteric Recordings reissue has been re-mastered from the original tapes and fully restores the original artwork. Our Price: £10.95

Samurai
Samurai' is truly a lost classic of the Progressive era. Released on the short lived Greenwich Gramophone label in 1972, the album was influenced by the experiments of groups such as King Crimson, Gentle Giant et al, but was more than a mere clone of these bands. Evolving from the equally excellent band Web (whose album 'I Spider' is a classic of the genre), the musicianship on the album was excellent and Keyboard player Dave Lawson's compositions were groundbreaking and memorable. Sadly the group disbanded shortly after the release of the record resulting in limited sales. However, the influence of the album was not lost as both Dave Lawson and Tony Reeves soon joined Dave Greenslade to form the group Greenslade, effectively taking up the musical mantle laid down by Samurai. This Esoteric reissue features a booklet with previously unseen photographs and an interview with Dave Lawson. Our Price: £10.95
