Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce a newly remastered edition and first ever complete CD release of the classic album "DIVERGENCE” by the legendary Dutch Progressive Jazz Rock group SOLUTION.
SOLUTION formed in Groningen, Holland in 1968. The band recorded their self-titled debut album for Dutch EMI imprint Catfish in May 1971. By the time SOLUTION recorded their second album for EMI’s HARVEST imprint in 1972 the band had evolved with a line-up of TOM BARLAGE (saxophone / flute), WILLEM ENNES (keyboards), GUUS WILLEMSE (bass guitar, vocals) and HANS WATERMAN (drums).
"Divergence” featured many fine tracks, including ‘Second Line’, ‘New Dimension’ and the album title track, recorded by fellow Dutch band FOCUS as the piece ‘TOMMY’ on their album "Moving Waves”.
This Esoteric Recordings reissue includes the track ‘FEVER’, omitted from the previous CD edition of the album and has been newly re-mastered from the original master tapes. It features a booklet that fully restores all original album artwork with a new essay.

The World’s Smallest Big Band
Keyboard player and vocalist Eddie Hardin and drummer Pete York had first played together in the second incarnation of the Spencer Davis Group, following Steve Winwood's departure to form Traffic. In 1969 Hardin & York struck out on their own to form a highly unique duo utilising powerful Hammond Organ work and percussion to record a series of wonderful albums in the Progressive / Jazz Rock vein. 'The World's Smallest Big Band' was their second album and featured recordings made at Olympic Studios and material recorded live at De Lane Lea studios in front of a small audience. A popular attraction in Europe, the record remains a noted highlight of their career. This Esoteric Recordings reissue includes eight bonus tracks!

The Alchemist
Released on 29/03/10. Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the release of the classic 1973 Progressive rock album The Alchemist by Home. The band featured a line up of Mick Stubbs (guitar, piano, lead vocals), Laurie Wisefield (lead guitar, vocals), Cliff Williams (bass, vocals) and Mick Cook (drums) and had recorded two previous albums in a more conventional style before recording an album cited by many as a lost classic of the Progressive genre. Although critically acclaimed, the album failed to sell in quantities it deserved and Home disbanded the following year. With the addition of guest Jimmy Anderson on Mellotron and Synthesiser, the conceptual work also brought the guitar playing of Laurie Wisefield to the fore, eventually leading to his joining WISHBONEASH soon after the demise of Home Our Price: £10.95
